Our wii finally came home from the grandparents house, so i may snag some demos for it. I still can't believe they took them away last time. Demos for games of this nature should be standard practice

How can you not believe they took them away when they announced them as a limited time release in the first place, AND openly stated it was an experiment. Obviously, the experiment gave them successful results and they decided to officially kick off a demo program.

I was not taken by surprise that the demos were gone because that WAS openly stated. I'm more surprised at the decision itself than the fact that it happened. Marketing numbers aside, I have purchased way more games on XBLA from trying a demo yet passed wiiware games on the because I couldn't try before i buy.

This is why I love xbox live. Literally every arcade and indie game has a trial version, and many popular retail games have demos. Just another example of how nintendo simply doesn't "get it" when it comes to online functionality.

Demos aren't the cure-all for sales that people assume they are:

I love the Bit. Trip series but haven't gotten around to buying Fate. Glad there is a demo.

And yet it moves is really fun. Love puzzle platformers! I wasn't into the indie game paper art style. Should have been just some colorful characters and stuff. Probably would have lost some indie cred if it was too visually appealing.

Wanted to try Jett Rocket as a platform junkie but it is going to be hard to measure up on a system that has Super Mario Galaxy. They probably should of taken it to the HD consoles where there is a real lack of 3D platformers.

ThruSpace looks interesting that I'll probably enjoy playing the demo but I'll never buy the game as the novel gameplay will probably wear thin by the end of the demo.

" and will be rotated out regularly."

That's new. Last year there were like 4 demos and that was it.

I download and store all Wii demos. On a 4 GB SD card, it's trivial.

I HATE how Nintendo is running this wiiware demo "program". IT SHOULD BE A FEATURE NOT A PROMO

All I have to comment about this is that Cave Story better get a demo at some point. If there's a game that deserves to be promoted with a demo, it's that.

No, the PC version does not count.

After all the hoopla about Cave Story.
If there is a demo and I like it, I will buy it.
That's the kind of game I'm not buying till I'm trying.

I bought 'And Yet It Moves' for Wiiware on Day 1.
Please support this game. It's great. You'll see.

One of the main reasons I only have 1 wiiware game. I don't buy games unless the reviews are super great or I've played it first. Sure games look good but if the controls are horrid then it doesn't matter.

I agree with you fully. I can't tell you how many games on XBL and PSN I have played the demo for and purchased that same day. Sure, $10 or $15 dollars isn't a lot, but I just won't buy a game I couldn't try first.

I only own (or atleast did own) about 5 wiiware titles. The biggest problem Nintendo has is the inability to transfer your content to another Wii. A few months ago my Wii died. I just bought another Wii as I needed an extra controller and the Bundle also came with a Wiimote Plus adapter and Wii resort (which I did not own). I was informed I could not take my content to the new Wii. I'm very thankful I only lost about five wiiware titles. I have invested hundreds of dollars into XBL and PSN titles. Fortunately Sony and Microsoft have it figured out correctly.

Only the combination of demos and the ability to transfer your content will allow me to purchase any more wiiware titles.

@Chazzr Have you SEEN some of the third-party software that comes out on Nintendo hardware?
