@Lucky48 "Sucked major balls"?

Well I really liked AC2 DLC, the DLC fit perfectly and really added something to the story line. Could have used some achievements, but all in all I still liked it.

Wouldn't a 1.0 update for the animus 2.0 be a downgrade?

@McWilly Since most of the DLC is multiplayer related, then the "Animus" they are using is the one from Abstergo Industries, which I believe is still 1.0.. I think?

The Templar Animus wasn't finished yet, but they still called it a 1.0... maybe we shouldn't think about that too much.

"Mont Saint-Michel isn't just a fancy French name"

It's also the name of one of the greatest electronic music tracks you'll ever hear;

Play it loud and on good speakers or not at all.

"Bored of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood already?"

Hell no, I've rebuilt 1/3 of Rome and I'm only in the middle of Sequence 4. I JUST got to the point where you can recruit assassins, and I'm loving every minute of it.

Yeah seriously my brother and friend finished it in two days and now they're back to having tea party's with their 360s. As for me, bouncing between Reach multiplayer and having what I imagine a life is like, I'm dragging out the story and it's well worth it.

When in Rome!

Having been to the actual Mont Saint Michel, I have to say this will be an AMAZING map. MSM is an incredible island, and the buildings there tower over a beautiful coast (when the tide goes down there is a landbridge to the mainland, but if you stay until high tide you are stuck on the island until low tide).

Great choice Ubisoft!

Oh how I miss Mont St. Michel! It was absolutely one of my favorite places in all of France that I had a chance to visit a few years ago. I can't wait to see how faithfully they reproduced this location. Time to break out the photos from my trip and get myself prepared for this DLC. :)

It's kind of sad that everyone is grateful to Ubisoft for giving us free DLC consisting of...what, exactly? One new map and a "harder" version of a mode they already included.

Yeeesh. They're just trying to soften the blow for their inevitable $10 multiplayer expansion because when everyone complains about how future DLC is so expensive and meager, they'll just point back to this pack and shrug.

so you prefer CoD way, where they include a simple map, yet charges money for it??

No, my good sir/madame, I prefer the "these things should have been in the game to begin with" way. The link is pretty clear especially considering its release so soon after the game's launch; DLC three months from now will at least have development time as an excuse.

@Michael Bluth: or possibly that this particular mode and map weren't ready when it went Gold, so they finished it off and put it out as free DLC

Woah... what a weird coincidence. I was looking at pics of Mont Saint Michel today at work, just scanning through imagery and impressed with how awesome it looked. Sadly, the screens don't seem to do the weird locale justice.

when i read the title i didn't even thought about the assassin's animus being 2.0:) i thought its gonna be a single player dlc much like copernicus conspiracy. but i still think its great too make it free. maybe its what they thought they could put in the original acb multiplayer but failed? but honestly i don't care! assassin's creed is my number one game of all times , from ac 1 to acb. thank you ubisoft for making a historical game that is so badass!!!!

This is what I talked about.

When I said that developers can easily release DLC for free, since they are already had it in development in the regular development time.

They even could just add this "DLC" into the retail disc since the beginning, but maybe they wanted to look "cool" and release this DLC for free. Which is good is you ask me.

Sadly, the trend is that the game companies release a game and whithin the next 24 hrs, announce a "upcoming DLC" for the price tag of $15, which in in "development" and will add new features (read: games modes that they could easily add into the retail disc, characters and that stuff)

@ GAME COMPANIES: Look, I got it. I understand that you need to make money, so you can become the next "big publisher" and "dethrone" Activision. I got all this "DLC bullshit" but all of you are trying to sell us beans instead of caviar.

I can't accept and never will, this kind of crappy DLC that really must be in the retail disc in first place. Take a look, what a really DLC is.

Take a look a:

Pirates and the Caribbean DLC for Little Big Planet
Undead Nightmare for Red Dead Redemption
and....

I cant think of another DLC at the very same level of those above. The ones i just wrote, ACTUALLY ADD more functionality and features to an already released game.

I mean, those DLC I just mentioned, ACTUALLY FEEL like you are given new material, new things for a fair price tag.

Compare those DLC against Call of Duty Map packs, which are just the same assets. A map can be easily done in just a few minutes, just ask to the PC Modders community. Those genius can make a excellent map FOR FREE. Or compare against those bullshit Capcom DLC's.

Sadly, gamers keep buying this crap and the time when we got an actually full retail game, in which, developers implemented all their ideas, without cut content intensionally to sell it 2 weeks after release, are over, and the gaming as we knew it, will go along with.

It fit perfectly because they just skipped 2 chapters in the story so that they could fill it in later with DLC.

Isn't that what DLC is all about though, making the developer and publisher a few extra bucks.

The Valve model is the only model out for the fans, give it away for free.

@slimshady I have to agree it was bad because it's the first and only pay DLC for a single player story/campaign mode not to have achievements/trophies with it also.
