Does it have high system requirements? My six-year-old PC can barely handle WoW at lower detail as it is...

As per the Wikipedia page, the min specs are XP Pro SP2, AMD Athlon 1700+ 1.48 GHz, 1024 MB Ram, 128 MB 3D Video Card, but I expect that was before the Power and Prestige expansion. Probably want a more powerful video card than the old minimum.

Coolness. Blocky polygons here I come! Who needs textures anyway?

So is this any good? Would it be a good MMO for someone who has never played one before?

@phizzle

i dont know of many completely free to play MMO's, but if you're willing to at least shell out the small amount of money to get a hold of theGuild Wars game then I recommend that over ANY other MMO out there, including WoW

@phizzle

I am a MMO type of dude, so if you are looking for a totally free to play MMO, definitely try Lord of the Rings! If you want to pay a one time fee (just buy the game, but f2p) definitely try Guild Wars, or if you want the absolute best of the MMO genre (of course my opinion) definitely try World of WarCraft, there is a 14 day free trail. Totally and utterly top notch and super friendly to people new to the MMO market! Enjoy!

I played this years ago. Thought the ship to ship combat was a bit clunky. Now that this is free to play might go back and check it out again. Hopefully they've improved the game a lot since then.
