For the 22 dollars I paid for it on Black Friday weekend it's an excellent game.

Agreed, I've been powering through it and about to hit the end. I'd honestly say it's worth it at the $40 some odd dollars it usually sells for as well!

This review talks about the puzzles, combat, camera, and controls but not the story, the thing I'm most interested about with this game!

I don't want spoilers, I want to know whether or not the story is good. If it really is just escort the Majin from point A to point B then I'll pass, but if there's a good story here then I'll most likely pick it up.

The atmosphere and culture behind the game is great, but to be honest the story is a little weak. It's a popular theme and trust me you've heard it before. I may be a bad judge being just before the end of the game, but I saw the gist of the story coming from a mile away!

I can pretty much imagine how it ends as well. I can't imagine anyone WOULDN'T. Somewhat reminds me of 'Of Mice and Men'.

Not having played the game, and only watching the Giant Bomb QL, I still think having the Majin speak was a terrible idea - completely ruins the mysticism. It's clear that they were going for an Ico-esque feel, they should have stuck with the mute or ancient-tongue-speaking ally.

Too busy now, but it's most definitely on my list... which I will get to in months from now.

I bought this when I read the Destructoid and Game informer review, and I love it. I've beaten it, and it sits on my prestigious shelf of games I've beaten.

Also, inb4lastguardianripoff!

I disagree with one thing in this review, which is combat. I've been playing for a while and am really getting into the swing of it. It's one of the things in the that is more unique to me...Sure Tepeu doesn't have much ability when it comes to killing, but the combat is about partnership and aggro management. If you have any problems executing commands it's because you are not working to draw aggro away from the Majin. I've gotten to the point were the majority of my battles end quickly and in cool super combo finishes. I like that the game doesn't hand you an all powerful character and play itself for you...I don't know if things are changing, but I enjoy challenge. Maybe that makes me a gaming masochist!

As a tip to anyone having problems with aggro, remember that you can throw stones at your enemies. You'd be surprised to find out just how quickly you can get every enemy on the majin to chase you. Which just happens to be the perfect setup for wind powered super finish!

The game launced atr like $40 or $30. Some retailers even $20.

By $60 I think you mean 40.

At that price, the issues can be sort of forgiven.

Absolutely amazing game, that simply oozes charm.

I should be able to finish it up tonight, and it may very well edge out Minecraft and Enslaved as my Game of the Year.

What a pleasant surprise it was.

nice. i picked up enslaved pretty recently and have only got to mid-chapter 2 or so and am enjoying it thoroughly. nice graphics, plot, and voicework. not sure if i agree with the reviews yet, but like i said i haven't really got that far into it.

will definitely pick up majin soon. it being $40 is definitely a plus. i'm so broke over the holidays!

Got mines for the $22.99 off of amazon... haven't touched it as if yet though, Vanquish challenge 6 "was" giving me trouble for a good week straight. I will surely start it before I do start AC Brotherhood and I know AC takes more time to beat.

I don't know why but I didn't enjoy the demo at all. I see everybody here saying how fun the game is, and the reviews I have read say the same thing. But for whatever reason, the game just didn't click with me.

Maybe I'm just being unfair comparing it to Castlevania and Enslaved (which I also don't think is as good as everyone says it is...).

Kinda like the demo when played... My girlfriend also like the way that the Majin acts and talks for a powerfull creature like it is.
Just think that it came on a bad time for a launch... you know, Castlevania, Enslaved, FU II (not saying that they are all good, but they had a lot more marketing that maybe make people recognize or simply choose instead of this)...

"After all, this is a game that promises nothing but hours and hours of adventures with a largely computer-controlled sidekick. You wouldn't even be swayed if somebody told you that your partner obeys your commands. You've been down this road before, and you know it ends in a ditch."

Obviously, ICO is one of the few games to get it right. This review makes me think this game seems like ICO, except this time Yorda is a giant, stupid, powerful Colossus.
