The Mac App Store, the OS X software distribution platform which was announced
during Apple's late October press conference, has been stocking up on app submissions for over a month -- today, the company announced
these apps will be available for Mac owners' perusal on January 6, 2011. We still have plenty of time to digest this news, because 2011 is still ... let's see ... three weeks away
? Jeez. That's another year of our lives, siphoned away, like so many grains through the hourglass' unforgivingly wide channel.
There's no telling how strong of a contender the new storefront will be in the gaming space -- especially now that Steam is catering to Mac users. However, considering developers still be making that mad money
on the iOS App Store, the new platform should be given the benefit of the doubt.
