$15 is pricey for a few maps that will probably be the same size and nuketown or worse.

I was actually hoping for smaller maps. I hate walking around for the first few minutes of a match because they're too big. Especially when it's 3-on-3.

And maybe it's just me but I noticed that Nuketown gets voted on a lot. I'm gonna infer that a lot of players like the chaos of a smaller map.

I actually love Nuketown's size, everything about the map. It looks great with the time period, it's small, which allows for quick, right-into-the-action gameplay, and when there's a massive amount of players, there's a massive amount of chaos.

We need to collectively start voting with our wallets to get these map packs back down to $7.00. I was hoping Treyarch wasn't going to follow mw2's pricing structure but I hoped for too much and ultimately it's Activision's greedy call.

Treyarch won't be doing the maps for the map packs. I forgot the name of the company, but some smaller company will be in charge of developing them.

And yea $15 is outrageous, I already paid more than I'd ever pay for any other game on PC, I'm really hoping this is free for pc gamers, but that'll be highly unlikely, MW2 charged for em', and the pricing is entirely controlled by that large, greedy company called Activision.

And I can't stand nuketown, a good half of the servers are 24/7 HC nuketown servers on the pc, unskilled people like them because it's a camper's heaven, nade spam almost always gets a kill, and most people camp in their own spawns. It's incredibly boring.

Every time with the same complaints. The price is the price. No amount of "wallet-voting" is gonna change it. I think four new mp maps and a zombie one isn't too bad. Kowloon sounds legit.

This game is downright unplayable with lag sometimes. The lag was so bad for me I called in a spy plane and at least 30 seconds went by without ever showing up on my screen.

Nope, I thought so at first, but none of my bullets were making contact with the opposing team too. The game is really messed up. There are games where I have a k/d ratio of 5.00 or more for 5 straight games and then I go .50 for 5 more in a row. This happens with the same group of guys too. There are games where I am invincible and then there are games where no matter how many times I shoot the other team it takes a clip and a half to take them down. I know lag has always been part of the COD experience, but Black Ops takes the cake as the most noticeable. I've heard they have done some crazy things to host advantage and turned it into host disadvantage. The host lags on purpose now. I know they are trying to be more fair, but it has really affected the consistency of connection on Black Ops.

More accurately, none of you notice the lag you experience.

This is the same as people insisting that a game is 60 FPS when it is in fact 30 and they don't know what 60 is. Every game has lag, it's a question of how much.

And yeah, Black Ops definitely has the worst netcode of any COD game since COD4. 4 bars of latency is beast mode, 3 bars is usually ridiculously bad.

While I've had a few laggy games, no more then say Modern Warefare 2 and certainly none as unplayable as COD4 when it lagged.

You can blame cheaters for the lag. If you notice an exceptionally laggy match, call up your player-list and keep an eye on the ping bars. You'll most likely notice that everyone will suddenly drop to a single tiny bar except one person who remains at full connection. I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure it means they are using a lag-switch. Personally I think if your ping is too low you should be dropped from the game or put into a lobby with all the other low-connection people.

No, most likely there isn't any lag for us to notice. You do realize it's quite possible that some of us just simply don't experience any? I know the difference between 60 and 30fps, and I know the difference between lag and no lag when I'm playing. Please don't group me in with the uninformed.

So again, no lag for our parties online.

Disagree entirely. I think perhaps your game experience is not the norm and/or you have an ulterior motive for the criticism. As a whole, the Black Ops multiplayer experience has been much more enjoyable than the last fiasco, and I can honestly say lad has never been a noticeable issue among my fellow gamers. I guess YMMV.

Agreed. To any Killzone 2 players, the standard was set at $3 for a new map ($6 for a 2-map pack), so $15 for 5 is more than reasonable... especially since that last one is a zombie map. I'll definitely consider this.

COD, 5 maps, $15 = $3 per map.
Reach (or any Halo game,) 3 maps, $10 = $3.33 per map.

True, but you can do more with a Reach map. You can forge them into as many different maps as you want. Thus, your actually paying for more content than is listed, and the price per map is almost non exsistant.

5 Maps, $15 (£10), No rehashed maps from previous games? Thats more like it, even though I still think this is a little bit early for DLC its better that your "actually" getting your money's worth.

@Ollyh Early? Maybe, but a big reason MW2's map packs took a long time was because they were fixing bugs. And doing a half job at that. I mean, first it was the Javelin glitch, then it was the care package glitch, then it was the infinite rust matches (which were actually fun). Then they made map packs with, what was it, 3 new maps and 1 old map? It took them a long time.

lololol @ Infinity Ward fixing stuff. It took them a month to patch that Javelin glitch, 6 weeks for the care package over 2 months for the 1887s to get nerfed and they never addressed OMA/Noobtube/Danger Close being game breaking.

Treyarch has been hard at work with patches since launch. There were 2 Care Package glitches found in this game and neither was around long enough to make note of.

Treyarch has done an incredible job with Blops, people are just whiners.

Agreed. Those were the days. Weapon wheel, huge maps, reactor core game modes, differing abilities for Chimera/Humans, awesome atmosphere. Let's hope R3 brings back some of that charm from the first one.

OT: Contemplating getting the maps because I have been playing CODBLOPS on and off, as opposed to always on with MW and (for some crazy reason) MW2. Zombies ARE addictive though.

Zombies maps are way more complex than multiplayer maps, so it's almost unfair to include Ascension as just another map in the pack.

Was hoping it'd be 800 MSP instead of 1200. I love how Activision is now gonna charge 1200 since they did it successfully with MW2. I mean, I probably will get the map packs, but I might wait in case they release a bundle like they did with WaW or when they go on sale. As much as I like this game better that MW2, I can't really afford an extra five bucks on DLC when I have almost 3 dozen games that I want for next year. At least Dice offers an entirely new perspective of their game for 1200 points.

This is great pricing. They aren't charging for a retro map and 3 mediocre new ones from MW2, and they aren't creating a map a like Halo did from its Forge World.

@xKalamityx Are you talking about the map pack for Halo Reach? If so, that map, even though taking place on the same ring as the Forge World map, isn't just a forge creation, it's very much brand new, it's just another play space for Forge.

I came in all prepared to throw a hissy fit about charging too much for a few crappy maps...but then I saw "hockey rink", and although I'm really not sure how that layout is going to work gameplay-wise, the fact that I can kill people in a hockey rink makes me happy, and I will gladly buy this map pack for that reason alone.
