72-hour charity marathon lets internet pick games, gets really tough ones
25
The marathon gaming team Wily Whompers was scheduled to race team Zeldathon this week, but when that showdown fell through, it decided to turn its marathon into a Viewer's Choice of sorts, asking Reddit readers to help choose which games to play for 72 hours straight. The group is also raising money for Child's Play as it streams the event -- so far it has only reached a few hundred dollars, but there's still time left to play ... and watch.
The team started with a run through Mega Man 10 and then the Reddit folks showed a cruel streak, sending the players through Super Meat Boy (we're told they beat all of the Light World levels and the warp zones), Super Ghouls N Ghosts and a few other unforgiving titles before the Whompers' current challenge as of this writing: Beating the forehead-slappingly difficult Demon's Souls. We can only wish them luck -- we're hard pressed to do anything for three days straight, much less play some of the hardest games around.

I've almost finished Demon's Soul and it's not as hard as everyone make it out to be. Really.

Try all three of the original Donkey Kong Country games next. That is torture. I don't know how many times I've died in that game, but I love it.

I just beat them last year and the only hard Donkey Kong is a few levels of the DKC2. The first and third are easy as pie.

Yeah I was just remembering a hard game from when I was a kid. I decided to play the first one again after posting and beat it in no time. Things are alot easier when you know what your doing.

all the light world levels in super meat boy. they should AT LEAST have to A+ all of the light world levels including cotton alley, or really clear enough of it to unlock the true final boss in the dark world and beat that before moving on ;-)

True final is where I drew the line. I mean, some levels just weren't meant to be beaten.

How about a dessert of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on the hardest difficulty with all challenge levels?

yea demon souls is not that hard of a game , its hard if you compare it to how easy games have become and you dont have to use your brain to take cover point and shoot then yea its going to be hard for you. games have gotten so easy to the point of just running into the middle of a few enemies and hacking and slashing them death with minimal damage take to player.. demons souls makes you reconsider your tactics and think before you act - maybe thats why its so hard for some people

So, just curious... who gets the games?
I mean, if I wanted them to play Beavis & Butthead for SNES, would they go out and buy it so they can play it?
