Saying it's to celebrate the news of the service being integrated into upcoming VIZIO products, OnLive is offering a CES 2011-centric discount on its MicroConsole hardware through the duration of the show. Up until 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, January 9, you'll be able to order the hardware -- which includes a voucher good for the game of your choice -- for $66, plus shipping, directly from OnLive.
Company CEO Steve Perlman also announced in his blog post that SRS 5.1 audio will be coming to the cloud gaming platform (on the MicroConsole, PC and Mac) as an update in "early 2011," as will promised 3D support. Now, in what we hope doesn't become customary fashion, we'll say: That's great, but how about some more games?

Might just pick this up, since it comes with a free game. A new title would cost almost as much retail, so...

I got one of these, and it is pretty cool. It works a lot better than I expected. The main complaint I have, is it doesn't look all that great on bigger TVs. I have a 50" HDTV, and even with a 50mb internet connection hardwired directly to the unit, the image appears a bit washed out and pixilated. Not at all HD quality, or as good looking as the same game looks on my PS3 or 360. There doesn't appear to be any lag problems, at least. When I played it on a smaller TV it looked a lot better.

@NaeemTHM I have a 10mb connection and it runs about the same as described above. No lag, but kind of a pixelated muddy look.

I would. I have a 50" and it looks great on my 12mb connection. It may be the game? Batman: DA looks better than the 360 equivalent. and at the price of a game, with a free game, ya cant loose. Try the connection before you buy on your PC. just download the client and try a demo. No credit card required.

Above stated it looks equal to the 360.. while I cannot argue directly with that. I own Batman on PC and played the OnLive Demo (which is just the full game limited to 30 minutes of play time, so I played the exact 30 minutes on both) and I can say definitively it looks MUCH worse on OnLive. Especially when moving. It seems if you hold still and nothing moves the definition goes up, but when moving it looks very muddy and pixelated. This is on a 20mb connection.
That being said if you are curious if it is worth it to you as a PC, 360 and PS3 gamer.. just try it out on PC for free. You might have better results than I did, and it is absolutely free to try.

What?! I do not know what type of setup you are running your 360 on, you must have it running through AV cables if your Onlive version is looking better. That claim is a little ridiculous. Actually, after reading through some of your other posts here, I am kind of wondering if you are not an employee from Onlive. Your posts regarding Onlive sound a little salesman-like to me.
Anyways, I am not knocking Onlive, it is a cool little device, but the graphics are in no way comparable to the 360, PS3, or PC versions of the same games in any of the multiple setups I have seen it running on. You would think with my 50mb hardwired internet connection that would be the case, but it is not. Muddy, and pixilated graphics is what I am seeing. The lag is not much of a problem, but the graphics are definitely a downer for me.

Man and I bought it for 100.
Still cool little device my main complaint is they need to add some more games. Nothing on the service appeals to me or I played already on ps3 or 360. I've yet to use my voucher for a free game because of it

Games should be cheaper. I can't justify to myself paying the same or nearly the same amount for a copy of a game in "the cloud" as I do for a hard retail copy. That being said, onlive is very promising and I may just have to pick it up during the sale so I don't feel dumb later on for not getting it...

And... no one cares.
Until there's infrastructure to support this kind of gaming in more communities beyond the larger cities, this will not be succesful.
My internet provider limits my bandwidth to 60 gig's per month, with a $10 per gig overage fee. It's the only available option up in Northern BC. So, anyone else in the same boat I am, with severely limited bandwidth would be unable to enjoy this.

I hope onlive kicks off. Really hope.
I personally wouldnt go the onlive route because I'd much rather own a hard, retail copy of my games. Just in case I wanna play it 15 years from now.

Having your games in a cloud gives greater longevity from a purely technical perspective... ideally they would be there as long as you live... nothing would ever go out of print or lost; game saves would remain in tact; data would remain persistent for all users; no need to buy new hardware or switch video inputs; less environmental and financial waste (packaging, manufacturing, shipping); tampering and hacking would be nearly non-existent; more of a boost to independent development and pricing... the list goes on and on.
Cloud computing is the natural evolution of personal computing, and video games run on computers. I would be surprised if the traditional game console exists come 2050. The only problem here is the lack of publisher support, but that's tough right now since publishers are basically retailer liaisons for developers, and to move to a distribution platform like this would cripple their business models.
It's the classic case of progress being hampered by comfortable old-timey conservative fat cats who run this [US] country.

I have OnLive and have supposed it since beta and got all the freebies including the free MicroConsole for my efforts, so this is a great shot in the arm with regards to my confidence in future success of the product. I am now more than happy to continue purchasing games on the system during its many sales.

Yes, friends, now you can enjoy current hits like Borderlands for just $66 (plus all the other fees associated with this product)

$66 for a $50 game (with all the expansion packs) in addition to a game console that never has to be upgraded to play future games, and the best controller I have ever owned (its like the PS3 and 360 made sweet-sweet love and produced this gem) is a great deal.
There are other good games on the system too, and they are adding more all the time. They officially launched in December, and already have over 40 titles. give them time. Geeze

Man I really want one of these but I just hear too many complaints about it looking muddy on 50" tvs. :( plus I only have like a 15mb connection. Also this talk about Internet caps from your ISP. I've tried it on my computer but would rather use it on my HDTV.
