Rock Band Weekly: Linkin Park six track pack

The first track pack from nu-metal group Linkin Park, featuring six songs from across the band's discography, will come to Rock Band 3 on January 11 for $10. All the pertinent details for next week's DLC release can be found just below the break. You'll note the selections differ from the newer ones available in Guitar Hero, so if you want to play as many Linkin Park songs as possible, you'll need to indulge both video game rhythm rivals.

That's sad, because Linkin Park's new material is terrible, whereas Rammstein's new album absolutely amazing. Try it.

so wait, just to get this straight: this track pack is exclusively for RB3? it won't be released for RB1 or RB2?

All DLC that has been released since the launch of RB3 has been like that.

i played RB3 a few times and didn't really like it as much as i liked RB2.... i probably won't get it until its really cheap

@zack11190 Well, not ALL dlc. RBN tracks can still be played on RB2, since they don't chart for keys, harmonies, and whatever else keeps RB3 dlc exclusive.

@My Prerogative RBN 2.0 has support for Keys and Harmony. No Pro Guitar, though. I'm pretty sure you won't be able to play Anamanaguchi in RB2 once their stuff hits RBN, since they'll be charting the chiptune stuff to the keyboard. Character creation is annoying. Took me ages to get my character not ugly (now he looks AWESOME, but yeah, ages). But beyond that I love pretty much every other change. Pro keys are RAD :D

Oh. I guess while I'm replying; I'll probably buy this, if only for my LP fan friends. Even though I'm not a fan, I don't exactly hate 'em either...

@cylet Well, RB3 is going for 30 bucks online from Walmart right now. Doesn't get much cheaper than that.

Tell me about it. The other day, I was downvoted for saying that the Beyond Good and Evil HD remake is more important to me than Torchlight for XBLA.

Not conforming? No offense, but do you no what conforming means? You're considering purchasing a corporate product from an equally massive corporate retailer... you are conformed. The vast majority of the world is, it's practically required in order to function. Not buying a game for $60 and waiting until the price drops or they bundle it in GOTY package isn't nonconformist, it's frugal. It's smart. Congrats, you have common sense and a bit of patience. Your better than the majority of the people on this site in those capacities, but you are not nonconformist simply for waiting.

I meant not conforming as in I'm not gonna automatically love the game just because everyone else does

probably get a couple of these on nostalgia factors alone - and they're sure to be surefire hits for the get togethers

Pretty good selection of their stuff overall, but yea papercut would've been a great addition over waiting for the end.

im not a very big fan of linkin park, ill listen if theyre on the radio, but some of there songs sound fun to play on the drums.

@bshido Rob Bourdon is a damn good drummer. Doesn't get enough credit, IMO

Linkin Park always sounded like a rap/metal band crossed with the Back Street Boys to me.
