@shard765

The 'House Party' promotion starts on the 16th of Feb with Hard Corps Uprising. Anytime in the month or so after that is as specific as anyone knows just now.

@shard765 - Microsoft is doing a spring release bombardment, in which BG&E HD and Torchlight - 2 of 5 games - are coming to XBLA.

I think it's called House Party for the spring event.

I'm gonna buy this. The first game is apparently a classic and I missed out because all I played was Halo 2 (stupid teen mentality that only shooters are good).

@DeadpooI Yeah, Chris, Both of those games were failures financially. If I recall correctly they put ALL their eggs in the Prince of Persia basket because it had been a proven franchise and they knew if people just PLAYED IT, they'd buy sequels. To that end, they were giving away their number one property at the time to purchasers of Prince of Persia, the original Splinter Cell.

If i recall correctly, it was an insanely good deal, because Splinter Cell was down to 20, and Prince of Persia (and BG&E) were dropped into an overloaded holiday season and both quickly dropped to $20, so many people saw it as getting a free random game with their Splinter Cell.

http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/splintercell/news.html?sid=6086037

Make no mistake, that promo saved Christmas for Ubisoft, and allowed them enough mindshare to buil up another major licensed franchise for themselves. They just didn't have enough faith behind their own IP to back it with the same fervor, much to the world's detriment. If things had gone differently, it could have easily been a BG&E movie that was in theaters just now staring Jake Gyllenhaal.

Ok not really, but you get my point. :(

A Beyond Good & Evil movie would have Milla Jovovich. Which all of a sudden sounds like a GREAT idea.

I don't think Ubisoft has changed that as they haven't announced a cancellation of the PSN version. I wonder if since its going to be part of XBL's House Party promo if there'll be some time exclusivity.

@The angry pro consumer gaming ga It was supposed to be a PSN/XBLA multiplatform release, but getting into House Party might require at least timed exclusivity.

@curlybrace It's not cancelled, it's just not dated. The XBLA version is getting a lot of co-marketing from Microsoft and I'm sure there's some limited exclusivity period for that. But it's not EXCLUSIVE.

@ItsameMatt03 Because I give my money to the company that make a reliable product. My 360 is on borrowed time and once it dies that's it for me and Microsoft, thankfully other than Gears and Halo I can pretty much play everything else I want on the PS3.

question...is the beyond good and evil on Steam the same as this one? If I max out the settings will I not notice a difference in looks(or will it look better than the re-release?). If I get it on Steam then my 6950 will be running it(which I know is more than enough).

@Gco The version on steam has some problems... it won't support widescreen, but letterboxes everything, meaning you have to play the game with black boarders across the entire screen. It also does not control nearly as well with the mouse, and has some serious slow down on my new computer in the hovercraft. I love the game, but you should probably wait for this new 360 version.

@CaseyVincent Don't forget that some modern graphics cards require that you manually adjust settings in the ini file in order to not display things funky.

I know my nVidia 9600GT required such changes with Vista, not sure how that'd work with my GT240 Win7 machine.

This should be good. I played through this game one summer on my roommates Xbox, but he moved out before I finished it. Looking forward to picking this up and enjoying it in HD.

Also, I'm calling it: $20-25 price tag. Maybe even $30.

Definitely not buying it if it's over 20. That would just be a ridiculous ripoff in my opinion for a 7 year old game. I'm guessing it will be 20 though, but 10 or 15 would be incredible nice and generous of Ubisoft, but I'm not expecting it to happen.

@Dawg605

yeah, I'm with you, $20 is the max that I would pay. I'm just predicting MS's pricing schemes. They'll say it's a full retail game that's been redone in HD. If Limbo(which I absolutely love) can cost $15 and plays for about 2-3 hrs, and sell in spades, then a full retail game that's had a lengthy development cycle to bring it into the world of HD can easily shoot over $20, justified or not.

@Puertoricarious I don't believe there is a single arcade games over 15$(1200MSP), I don't see this beaking the trend.....I hope. Then again, this is a retail game being thrown out as an arcade game......too many variables! (ノ `Д´)ノ ~┻━┻

PoP:SoT didn't exactly explode out of the gate either. They were both marked down before Christmas when they released. That strategy saved PoP and gave it the chance it deserved. Didn't work as well with BG&E, except among connoisseurs.
