Select Activision content on sale on XBLM until Jan 17

It's rare you can do something nice at the same time as you get a little something for yourself, but today presents just such an opportunity. Until January 17, you can get tons of discounted DLC, including some XBLA games, from an upstart indie called "Activision" through Xbox Live Marketplace. All the Call of Duty: World at War map packs are just 400 points, for example, and you can find the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock "Linkin Park Pack" for just 480 plus our terrible, eye-rolling judgment.

We know it can be daunting to spend your hard-earned dough on a no-name publisher, but trust us: We've been following these scrappy kids, and we feel pretty confident that they're going places. Peruse the full list of discounts after the break.

I didn't know Crash and Spyro were on XBLA.

@buster42 They're Xbox Originals - so no achievements nor Xbox Live support.

ORIGINAL Spyro the Dragon was published by Sony.

So the original, and the best ones, cant be on 360. Must mean that later trilogy/set of games.

Also, in the crash series.. nothing before Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex was on any other console but PS.

@Faenix I agree that it needs to fix it. I actually have Spyro 2 from PSN. I just had the slightest hope that maybe Activision had managed to sneak in an updated version of the original Crash onto XBLA at some point. Yet my dreams were crushed :(

Joystiq has been guilty of this fairly often: Calling anything that's a game on XBL "XBLA".

They need to not do that.

@AceManUSC - How were they supposed to include their most recent hit when there's no DLC for it?

I do agree that they should've put the MW2 DLC in there though.

This just proves that Activision is publisher that REALLY cares about their customers. Also, sarcasm.

Nothing of interest for me - like most Activision stuff :P

Everyone seems to be posting the Transformers WFC Map & Character Pack #1 and # 2 as DJ Hero 2 DLC, which is incorrectly. It should be under it's own catergory, Transformers WFC DLC.

As for the content, I'm thinking of picking up DJ Hero 2 DLC while it's on sale, since I plan to pick up DJ Hero 2 sometime soon.

Remembers those epic days playing Call of Duty 2 on 360 launch...such great days, tho there was nothing else to play >.> except Perfect Dark Zero, which was also amazing. =)

And I was just wondering if Assault Heroes 2 or Arkadian Warriors would ever be marked down. Question answered.

All those GH packs, eh, I'll think about... but I'm strapped for cash, and also don't see much sense in having a GH library to compete with my nearly 450 downloaded RB songs.

HEY!!!! This doesn't pertain to the Activision sale, but those of you looking to pick up XBLA titles on the cheap may want to note that Outrun Arcade is 400 points (50% off). This is especially noteworthy because, due to licensing arrangements, the game will be REMOVED from XBLA in December 2011 and has already been pulled from PSN.
