Bulletstorm demo blows up Jan. 25 on Xbox Live, PSN

"It can't possibly be that stupid, can it?"
It's the thought we've had from the moment we first saw the game title (which is still Bulletstorm, by the way) to when we heard an NPC call the player a "butt chugger" and "wiener apprentice," or whatever it is they actually say. Can the game really be this meatheaded and still, by most accounts, be a joy to play? You'll be able to judge for yourself when a demo for the game drops on Xbox Live and PSN on Tuesday, January 25. (If there's a PC demo on the way, EA has made no mention of it.)
The Bulletstorm demo features the score-attack "Echo Mode," which provides a sliver of the campaign with rigid time and weapon constraints, and then compares your score against friends. Your tolerance for being profanely insulted will not, as far as we know, be tested.

Cool, didn't know if we'd get a demo or not. I watched the Halo Believe trailer back to back with the new Bulletstorm trailer this morning; makes it even funnier. Does anyone know if the 'Epic' editionn will be a smaller run or will it be as readily available as the plain jane copies?

The Epic edition is the first run, a la Medal of Honor, Need For Speed, Battlefield 2, etc.

This is definitely a wait-and-see game for me. Not even sure when it's being released, but there are already too many great titles just around the corner for me to be too concerned about it.

Bet.
I've been waiting to try this game out.
Honestly, too many EA games drop in price too fast so I won't be buying EA or Ubisoft games day 1 anymore.

@Lincoln I think you're confusing this with Dead Space 2, which releases on the same day as this demo.

At this point I would love to see the percentage of games on 360 that are actually NOT first person shooters.

MAG, Killzone3, Resistance 3. Vs. Halo and....I guess just halo. Pretty much every other FPS out there is a multi-platform game.

LISTWAR!
Looking solely at my library of 360 console exclusives:
Non FPS - Ace Combat 6, Alan Wake, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Beautiful Katamari, Blue Dragon, Chromehounds, Crackdown, Culdcept Saga, Dead or Alive 4, Dead Rising, Earth Defense Force 2017, Fable II, Fable III, Forza Motorsport 3, Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Guilty Gear 2, Halo Wars, Infinite Undiscovery, LOTR Battle for Middle Earth II, Kameo, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, Lips, Lost Odyssey, Lost Planet Colonies, Magna Carta II, Mass Effect, Namco Museum, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja, Naruto: The Broken Bond, Ninja Gaiden II, The Outfit, Project Gotham Racing 3, Project Gotham Racing 4, Project Sylpheed, Ridge Racer 6, Splinter Cell Conviction, Too Human, Tropico 3, Viva Pinata, Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise, WarTech: Senko No Ronde.
FPS - Condemned, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, Metro 2033, Perfect Dark Zero, Prey, Shadowrun
So that's 41 to 8 in favour of non-FPS games, all in all about 84% of my library of 360 exclusives aren't first person shooters. It's not a perfect sampling, but I hope it gave you your answer.

@thyodyssey I game on PC. My steam name's this: Dan The Man. I personally think that it is unfair to the developers when EA decides to not have a PC demo, and the developers get shafted for it by the gamers. To me, you're stealing when you don't have the right. If that makes me spoiled, then hell, I'm the most spoiled guy on the planet. I never said anything about how PC gamers shpuld be treated lower. All i'm saying is, when has pirating ever sent a message to a company that has actually benefited you?
To me, if you want to see if the game will run, check the specs, or if thats not enough, pirate it and check it out. If it works, then delete the game and actually buy it. If it works, and you just decide to keep the copy anyway, don't try to fool yourself into thinking you're doing anything else but stealing.

Why isn't there a PC demo :(
One of the justifications of piracy for some people is that there's no demo (unquantifiable claims for or against aside). You'd think that they'd comply there.

So no campaign co-op and no competitive MP in this game. Interesting.
And by interesting, I mean crappy.
I can understand the no competitive MP, since the mechanics of the game would be tough to pull off with that. But why no campaign co-op?

@Cleric
I'm tired of this pretentious nonsense that's been running rampantly lately where people are trying to come off of purists who just want to protect the integrity of single player games.
Bulletstorm is an arcadey shooter. Arcadey shooters are best played with friends. Shooting someone in the nuts and then kicking their head off is a lot more fun when a friend sees you do it and you both have a good laugh over it. There is absolutely nothing that equates the addition of multiplayer to a worse single player campaign. "Tacked on" multiplayer didn't negatively affect the single player campaigns Uncharted 2, or AC: Brotherhood, or Gears 1, or even older modern gen games like Dark Sector and Stranglehold, so get over it already.
What multiplayer does do is extend the life of a game by a ton, even if it's only co-op. Without multiplayer, no one will care about Bulletstorm any more 2-3 weeks after it releases.
Adding another player to co-op in the campaign should have been a priority. There's no reason not to. No one cares about the story of this game, it's an arcade game (not that story should prevent co-op anyway, just stick another player in there, you don't even have to have the story and cutscenes admit that he's there). And they've got anarchy mode, which means they've already got the gameplay working with multiple players. It's just stupid to leave it out.

What the hell?
No co-op or MP?
The only reason I own a 360 is because most of the games are geared that way. It is a bro shooter. This really doesn't compute.
Not saying I was interested to begin with, now I am confused as well.

@Vcize I dont understand your point of view, you make very little sense. Your telling me that "no one will care about Bulletstorm any more 2-3 weeks after it releases." I was playing Bioshock 1 the other day for the trophies and I forgot how good a game it is. Similarly with Uncharted one, both spectacular games with no multiplayer. I feel that if time had been spent on a multiplayer component for these games instead of concentrating on the single player, then they would not be as amazing as they are. Enter Bioshock 2. Uncharted 2 is awesome, the single player is not better than Uncharted one, but not worse either. However I could have lived without it having an online Multiplater, I think i played it once or twice with my bro for the co-op campaign things.
Do you understand what arcade games are? Arcade in the traditional sense have nothing to do with playing with your friends. They are a bragging right game." My high score is " XYZ " whats yours? " I think this is the root that Bulletstorm has gone for. While its not multiplayer in the directly competitive sense, it is multiplayer in that you attempt to beat your mates score. This is what a " True " arcade game does, this is how a true arcade games is competitive.
I do agree, that Multiplayer is not a bad thing, and 80% of the time it extends the longevity of a game, but having said that I miss the generic arcade games with a solid Singleplayer.
1 thing I suppose we can look forward to, is no " 10,000 Kills in Multiplayer " trophies, which unless its all you play for a year your not gonna get.

Very happy about this. I want to love this game and was contemplating pre-ordering the Epic Edition (for the Gears 3 love, of course).
If this demo is any good, I'll have no doubt that I'll pre-order it. My fingers are crossed that this will be the game that enters the multiplayer rotation among my friends. So far it's just COD and sometimes Halo. We tried to get on board Assassin's Creed... but my friends just don't dig it like I do. So, here's hoping this is the game that cures us of our COD additiction. And if it does - I might be able to forgo purchasing the COD DLC on Feb 1 :)
