Final Fantasy Types 1-3 also trademarked, mystery grows

With Square Enix's Final Fantasy Type-0 still an enigma, little can be discerned from the company's recent trademarks of Final Fantasy Type-1, Type-2 and Type-3. Whereas Type-0 was met with domain name registrations, these subsequent names have not, causing Siliconera to postulate that these could be "protective trademarks," to be used in case Type can be capitalized into a franchise.

But why stop at Type-3? Why not register 4, 5, and beyond? If Square Enix doesn't act quickly enough, who knows what the company will lose to squatters? Heck, we already put in a registration for Final Fantasy Agito Tredecim: Type-13-2: Final Mix.
