Joystiq likes to drive their customers to other websites I suppose. I'll be damned if I have to watch an AD before the ad I want to see comes on (Game trailers are ads, doesn't matter how you slice it) only to see an ad covering my ad so I can't watch the ad I wanna watch.

These new uncloseable ads are the worst. I couldn't see half of her moves because of the big floating ad overlay, which was the entire purpose of the video game AD I wanted to watch. Perhaps you'd prefer I get my video game videos (and thus my news as well) somewhere else?

I don't get or see ANY ad's, I am using Firefox with Ad Blocker Plus and what usually happens if it's not a youtube embedded video is if I choose play it will sit on a black screen because of the ad, but it doesn't show or have any sound and then I just have to hit "Refresh" and then click to play it again and it works fine still without any ad's.

I'm not sure which filter I have or exceptions that cause that, but it's really easy and fast to just click on it to play, refresh the screen and then click to play again and it's fine.

I to have complained about this issue way back before Christmas because back then the ONLY ad that kept coming up before the video was one for the new Shrek DVD/Bluray and even clicking on it wouldn't make it fully go away. I also think before I had ABP turned off for this site just so I didn't accidently have something blocked out that was woth seeing, but that all changed once Joystiq started with this shady ad business stuff on videos and what not.

Just wish advertising companies and or companies in general would get it in their thick skulls that people DO NOT like to watch or see ad's at all. I love my DVR and won't even watch a "live" TV show these days because of commercials. I'll usually start watching 30-60 mins AFTER it stars so I can fast forward through commercials or just record and watch another time while still forwarding through commercials. As for internet, just could use any and all ad and pop up blockers and hope for the best.

Oh I also have a flash blocker plug in/add on for Firefox that will automatically NOT load any flash content. Instead it'll just have a play like button over whatever it is that is "flash" and you can either click it that one time to view/watch it or if it's something that's always there and is trusted then just right click it and choose the option that says something like "always allow/open on this site" and the next time you open that page it'll load like normal without having to click again to view or watch whatever it is that is being shown via flash. That might have something to do with helping to block the ad's shown here and other sites....

I suppose. Admittedly, I stopped playing MK too long ago to even know the characters' backgrounds and bios. But regardless of where her lips are, the fighting in that trailer looked AWESOME! I don't typically play fighters (not adverse to them tho) but I'm totally looking at this one now!

That's basically the end of a very long, drawn out death. Various studios ended up closed or bought by others. I think some of the properties got sold off. But Midway and the core properties now belong to WB.
