Once Atlus gets involved I suddenly become more interested in things.

@Jack Kevorkian
Exactly - their recent catalog of releases has been very impressive. Love that they support such a niche of gaming.

@Jack Kevorkian atlas is only the publisher, the whole game has been developed by Larian studios and already released world wide on PC and xbox in europe. and so far to improved reviews as well.

Looks okay, but what really made the trailer for me was the Simply Ageless serum primer and foundation. I wonder how that fits in with the dragons. (No spoilers please)

This looks way better than I would have expected. At at a value price of $40 (http://www.amazon.com/Divinity-II-Dragon-Knight-Xbox-360/dp/B004JHJHCC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1295973737&sr=1-3), it may well be something to pick up.

If they manage to fix the terrible frame rate and release it at a decent price, I'll bite. It wasn't a bad game, it just hurt to look at and play.

@Rollins - That's along the lines of what I'm thinking. I played the demo of the original (was on Marketplace) and actually liked the game play itself. Nothing Earth shattering here, but a solid RPG, mired by less than stellar graphic presentation - it didn't help Divinity II's case that there were a ton of great games that had come out around the same time.

Hopefully the second time is the charm. Going to download the current demo now (in case they pull it off Marketplace when Dragon Knight Saga shows up), and hope they release a new demo, so that I can compare the two directly.

@Exu

I played Ego Draconis and loved it. It wasn't without its faults, as it had many that included a not so steady framerate, mediocre technical visuals, a high learning curve, etc.

However, it had a great srt direction, superb soundtrack, a wonderful world to explore, some great dialogue w/ solid comedy throughout, and it was rewarding to play.

This looks quite promising, especially if that price is true at $40. even luke warm impressions will convince me.

I knew there was a reason I did a double take when I got the Atlus email about it yesterday...

As much as I think this looks cool, I don't want to make myself sick of playing an epic medieval fantasy RPG before Skyrim comes out. After playing a ridiculous amount of Oblivion, I got sick of it and never finished it, so I'd like to go into Skyrim fresh (and maybe actually finish an Elder Scrolls game for once, hah).

@meatee you never really "finish" a elder scrolls game, you just stop playing it for a long time.

Great to see Atlus pick up a quality Euro RPG. This improves upon all the flaws in Ego Draconis. Don't miss out on this gem.

I've never played the original release of Ego Draconis, but I got the PC version from the Steam sale and have to say this will easily be $40 better spent than, say, Venetica... kind of shocked that Atlus would pick up such a Western-style game though.

@luigionlsd

I loved, loved, loved Venetica. Despite its rough budget edges, it was a charming fantasy adventure.

This is kind of funny only because I started to play Divine Divinity for the first time just last weekend and am so hooked. Obviously this sequel is quite different than the original in terms of game play, but I am now much more interested in checking it out if Atlus says I should :)

New business strategy...

1. Pick up another publisher's game
2. Atlus-ify it
3. ????
4. Profit!

So, is this game really any good? I played the demo, and while it sort of had it's charms, it seemed like one of those many European RPGs like Gothic or recently Arcania that requires a significant investment to just figure out things like stats and menus. Am I wrong to think that?

So, is this the sequel or just a re-release including some DLC?

My Level 40 Dragon Knight is waiting to move forward from the place I had to leave him. Since it's the only DVD game I have a perfect score in, I'm not interested in any DLC that will screw that up...

Bought DKS during the Steam sale. Once I figured out that Kaspersky doesn't like this game - I just disable AV and it runs great.

I'm almost to the half way point and I'm completely addicted. Divinity 2 has a fun factor of 10, and should make Bioware ashamed that they released a turd of an RPG like DA.
