Even better, trailers for both can be found after the break, revealing a bit about the titles' respective gameplay, as well as their launch dates -- February 2 for The Oregon Trail (with hunting, yes!) and February 9 for Carmen Sandiego. And both games, we must add, look totally awesome. We're starting to get worried about this whole "Facebook" thing.
'Oregon Trail' and 'Carmen Sandiego' coming to Facebook in Feb.

Please excuse us if a bit too much childlike excitement comes through in today's news that fresh takes on The Oregon Trail and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? will be released for Facebook early next month. Next-Gen.biz spotted a note revealing the two titles on developer Darius Kazemi's personal blog, where he expressed his own childlike excitement to have worked on them. "I loved both of these games as a kid (my favorites were Where in Space...? and Where in the USA...?), and one of the main reasons I took the job at Blue Fang was to get a chance to work on these awesome titles," Kazemi gushed.

Fun fact of the day: I live 10 minutes away from the end of the Oregon trail. And on it are three massive wagons that house a museum that no one goes to.
And a 5 minute drive from there is a place called Super Torta that burritos that will make your face explode with happy.

is there a possible way to download and play Carmen Sandiego games from the APPLE II era. too much to ask prob.

@PR0F3TA i jailbroke my iPhone, got an NES emulator and play Carmen sandiego on it. Sometimes using a wiimote via Bluetooth. I'm sure there's an apple ii rom and emulator out there, or at least commadore 64. In fact im pretty sure there's a site that runs the apple II emulator as a java applet or flash.

/cool story bro time
I came into the kitchen once telling my father that my sister was bit by a snake. He, like any respectable father told such a thing without context applied, flipped the hell out. Then I informed him I was playing Oregon Trail. LOLs ensued.

@Acosta02 Sure, but I wanted to immediately call to attention that my dumb remarks may be of no interest to many. Which then begs the question, "why did you post it in the first place?" Well... I pay for internets so I'll do what I want!!!1

You know, I saw the screen above, read nothing, and thought, "Is that a cartoony western JRPG style game? Hecks yeah" and was ultimately let down when I started reading....

Just so long as Carmen Sandiego remembers not to have her updates share her location, that'd take all the fun out of wondering where in the world she was.

Although this may finally coerce me into trying Facebook games, these are unusual choices. Neither features grinding or life-sapping addiction to the extent that Facebook games usually deliver.

I'd like them much better if they looked and played like the Apple ][ originals, but then I am a grumpy old coot.

@TRONdll I never played treasure mountain but i played the hell out of Spellbound, Outnumbered, and Midnight Rescue. Im thinking they were late 80s-early 90's games. I think the series was called "Super Solvers". I totally learned my multiplication tables cold thanks to that game!
