Homefront arriving one week late on March 15
31
During THQ's investor call today, president and CEO Brian Farrell repositioned Homefront's launch from March 8 to March 15. A THQ rep confirmed the delay to Joystiq, saying, "We moved our Homefront launch date by one week to March 15."
No specific reason was given for the move, but the launches of Pokemon Black & White and Dragon Age 2 on March 8 go a long way in explaining it. The rest of THQ's statement seems to reflect our supposition: "We think we have a great opportunity to dominate retail on this date." Tell that to Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011: Over the Nexus.

This game interests me but I don't have enough money for all of these games. :(
I have Killzone 3 Hel Edition and Dragon age 2 pre ordered and i want to get Bullet Storm, Marvelvs Cap 3, Crysis 2 and this game which equals $430. 0_0 all with in like one month.
I better start selling body parts and organs.

Not buying the version of Killzone 3 that costs twice as much as a standard copy might be a good idea then.

This game has a neat premise, but if it really does revolve more around online than story, I don't see it being a critical or financial success. But hey, who knows...

Too bad. I was actually going to buy both HF and DA2 that day. Thanks for making me wait another week for HF, jerks.

Now you can spend some more intimate moments with DA2. Sexy time?

Yuup. I'll be bringing this beast to Quakecon.
Well not really a beast, but I'm gonna call it a beast anyways, plus it's only going to run me $550! Going to use the savings to upgrade to 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD. Plus this ish will weigh around 4 pounds.

didn't really matter to me personally since i was gonna skip this one, FPS don't really seem to be lacking this year and it looks like it won't stop anytime soon... not complaining on the amount, just saying its time to start picking the best ones for you
i hope it turns out like Battlefield more so then COD

I don't really see a reason to be interested in Homefront, can someone give me a reason why?
Posted: Feb 2nd 2011 6:49PM Chumley Marchbanks said
@Chromatic Iggytrinh It's gameplay isn't going to be ground braking, but there is potential for an engaging and emotional narrative, which the genre has been lacking somewhat recently.

How is it racist? A sequel is already "planned". As for research,
"The backstory for Homefront was written with the help of CIA consultants who focus on potential attacks on the United States. Said Tae Kim, a former CIA field agent on the game's backstory, and a consultant: "we went to a very rigorous, academic research process to make sure to not only look at North Korea's current state but to look at historical examples how things could parallel and turn events."

Any game with the project $10 motive usually suck anyway. they will never get my money being greedy!

@onan pay attention! I said USUALLY suck. ME2 was ok but it didnt ask for $10 just to go online and play tdm or sumthing. I have hundreds of games but I know when to say enough is enough and not support project $10 b/c true online bangers dont need it b/c they know they produced a great product

@mellymell I did pay attention. You also said "never".
Do you even know what Project Ten Dollar is? It's EA's attempt to rein in the oversized and completely unprofitable second-hand market by including one-time use vouchers/codes in their new games. The logic is if you buy their games new, you get the whole package, while if you buy them used, you'll miss out on some (ideally) enjoyable content unless you pony up $10 so they make at least some profit off your used game purchase.
You threatening not to buy their games used because you don't agree with that business practice.... Yeah, not sure where you were going with that. Good luck, though!

Am I the only one hoping this game delivers ? so far what I've seen has me intrigued, does anyone know if there's a demo coming?

Sure.. come out on marvel vs capcom 3 day... I'm sure their marketing won't be too much of a burden on your game...

Why only one week? unless they plan on a pre release demo they've only moved closer to Crysis 2. Thats a terrible idea.
Crysis 2 makes Homefront look like a 2 dollar whore.
