@JnRx

Nor do I. They are going to ruin anything that Tritton comes up with. I have the AX360 set right now, I think it may be time to switch to the A30s when those die.

@mrfitzy of course there's going to be a difference when you buy a set of cans that cost 3x as much. It's like saying how a ferrari will kick the shit out of your mid class bmw.

@Cat Herder

?
I am aware of the general cost/quality trend.
I'm not saying my Trittons are bad, even compared to Astros. Honestly, Astro headsets are hyped up way too much. I'll eventually get the A30s, but only because I fear for what Mat Catz is going to do to Tritton.

Well, I'm still planning on buying a set of Astros. Although I'm hoping this partnership means that Microsoft will finally start licensing out their wireless tech.

ditto...I'm never buying any of their shit (not loosely used), after having 3 seperate problems simultaneously on their SF4 fight pads.. I don't get why companies partner up with them given how poorr the quality is on just about everything they make

I had a pair of Trittons at one point, and returned them the next day.

They sound terrible. The mids are muddy and the highs are overhyped and grating. I was playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood with them and could only play for 5 minutes, because every time I got into a sword fight the clanking of the swords sounded like they were stabbing my ear drums.
Now I just use a pair of Sennheisser HD555s with an Astro Mixamp 5.8 and couldn't be happier.

At least the Trittons look kinda cool.

Haha. As much as I enjoy my headset, they're not as appreciated from the other side of the speakers.

I use wireless Turtle Beach x31s, and they're great. My only gripe is having to connect a wire between the controller and the headphones. If Madcatz can circumvent that, I'll be an interested customer.

I bought a pair of ax Pros at the start of this year and so far I've really enjoyed them. There's only one ac adapter and they sound great. I understand that people used to have quite a few problems with tritton headsets but I think they definitely deserve a second look. They work for every console (except wii) and you can hook them up to your PC as well.

I just love it when companies make your use of 3rd-party accessories as an excuse for when something doesn't work.

I use the stock 360 headset. It's lasted me as long as I've had XBL (a few months), but then again I don't talk much.

I don't trust MC.

I've had problems with Turtle Bullshits. Feedback issues, compatibility issues, and faulty products. My Tritton Ax Pros are the most amazing headset I've owned. People think Im cheating in Black Ops because I can hear them before they come around the corner. I don't know where the second ac adapter came from, 'cause I only have one. The wires are a bit annoying at times, but I'd rather have the wires than have my headset die mid game.

I never bought a headset because I wanted one that was wireless but had a battery I could easily replace when its time came. I had to perform surgery on headphones from Radio Shack when the battery die and they didn't have that kind of battery in inventory anymore. Splicing the leads onto the original plug then stuffing everything back into the hadset was within my skill level but I *don't* want to have to do it again.

An ideal situation is a place for the same battery that fits in a controller on the headset, maybe on top so it balances OK. Then I can just keep the same batteries in stock for everything, since they only last a couple of years anyway...

Here is what will happen:

1. They'll announce a release date.
2. That date will come and pass, and only a few people will be able to get them.
3. They will say nothing when more will be available.
4. Three months later, finally more show up.

At least, that's how they handled the Rock Band instrument release.

After getting a set of Astro A30's last year, I can't honestly recommend a better set of headphone. These things are FaNtAsTiC! The base response is awesome, the sound cancelling is over the top, the surround is spot on and I could go on and on about networking them etc. I just got a custom set of tags delivered as well, try to put my quirky personality out there. Do yourself a favor, look at no other headphones and simply get these.. I even got a copy of the A40's later, still love the A30's more for the base response (Metallica has never sounded so good) and noise cancelling aspects.

I will say however that Astro banned me from their forums for some reason (I never posted there once), and wouldn't respond to my email asking 'why'. Little irritated about that.

Last time, ignore all other headphone manufacturers, the A30's for the price can't be beat.

@LaughPlayLive Are you referring to the wired or wireless Astro A30's? Is there a huge difference between the two? I'm thinking about upgrading from the Tritton AX720 headphones I currently use.
