A 3D version would really be awesome, but I think they need to release the normal versions first. An "Abgry Birds 3D" might come in the future.

@yoshi95 If it uses the bottom touch screen to control (like the iPhone version), then it will not have 3D because 3D is on the top screen only.

A lot of 3DS games will have this problem: having touch screen control, or having 3D graphics. Nintendo's reluctancy to provide equal power on both screen will hurt them eventually. You can't even make games like Zelda Phantom Hourglass on the 3DS now without abandoning the 3D main screen.

I just did a Google search for "Abgry"... and, huh... resulted in "Abgry birds"...

And I bet, in a couple of months, Bing will result in the same...

@billysea Have you ever played games like Metroid Prime: Hunters? There you control the character's movement (rotation to be exact) with the bottom screen and the action is on the top screen. You don't necessarily have to look at the bottom screen to be able to control the character. That would also work with Angry Birds because you could see how far you pull the slingshot on the top screen. Angry Birds would easily work with touch-controls on the 3DS, in my opinion. As for games like TLOZ:PH, you are right.

The funny thing is that more and more developers are ignoring the NDS even though THAT´S the one who has the big users base, and instead are only talking about the 3ds...........

I'm actually disappointed it's not already on DSiWare. Don't understand why it's not.

The problem with ds games is that a $0.99 ipod game will be much more on it like plants vs zombies.

@jink

DSiWare currently sells games for as little as $2.

PvZ was an exception. It was a $10 PC game, then a $15 XBLA game, and the DS version is $20, because it has a ton of extras.

It's probably going to be on the eShop, not a retail game. While pricing structure could be different for eShop than for DSiWare (not to mention, will be in real money, not Nintendo Points), on DSiWare the categories were Free, 200 Points, 500 Points, and 800+ Points.

And, hey, the PS Mini version is $4...

I would imagine it would be a close up version of the slingshot on the touch screen bottom half and then the movements you make on that half would reflect on the top half. It's completely feasible.

Too bad Reggie said, and I quote, "Angry Birds is a great piece of experience" and that at 99c it was "underpriced".

He was bashing the sea of mediocrity that most iPhone developers crap out.

Wonder if this was just a set-up to prepare fans for the fact that they plan to charge more?

I just don't understand the success it has had. I have it on my phone, and it's fine, but it's reached pop culture so quick it's baffling.

Maybe I just overthink it because it's rank one on the iOS platform

I believe it's resistive, like the DS. But, really, all you need is one point to aim the slingshot... heck, you don't even NEED a touch screen for this (see: PlayStation Mini version).

@eNriqeu No. If it was capacitive, it would only work with your fingers or a specially-made stylus. Capacitive touch screens work due to the electricity in your thumbs, so a stylus wouldn't work - just like how you can't use a normal stylus on an capacitive-screen phone.

Probably cause of the price and availability. I've played it and honestly don't see what the big deal is. If it were Plants vs Zombies, maybe then I'd get it, cause I lost HOURS of my life playing that game but I don't really get the mass draw of this one.

It might be cool if Angry Birds was played with the DS/3DS held sideways so the touchscreen was on the left side allowing direct touchscreen control, while using the top screen/ right hand side to ad more horizontal screen viewing.

Or.. if the bottom touchscreen was used exclusively to grab the bird ball so that wherever you touch on the screen it grabs, letting the player focus mostly on the top screen and the game could be in 3D that way.
