Wow $354 is a lot of money. And I thought American and European wallets were getting hit hard for the 3DS but $100 more is crazy expensive.

On another note I find it interesting how close AU is to USD in terms of money exchange rate.

The extra $100 is for protection from carnivorous kangaroos as the Nintendo shipments hit the Aussie shores.

@maemikemae Yeah, seriously. If the exchange rates are so similar, why is it $100 more? And with fewer features, too.

@maemikemae The Australians always get shafted more than everyone else when it comes to game prices.

This is actually cheaper than what the UK price was. (most retailers have since cut it down to be a bit cheaper).

Just go to the australian gamestop site and look at the ridiculous prices they have to pay for games/systems.

@Shadow Hog

Yeah, life sucks for Australians.

Hurricanes, extremely expensive game prices and as stated above, carnivorous kangaroos.

But seriously, $110 is alot to pay for a game. Give us cheaper games.

I should point out that the dollar is abnormally high at the moment, and that all prices include 10% sales tax.

Also, it's not hard to find games for $79 in store or $60-$65 online.

How much us Aussies get ripped off is kinda over-exaggerated.

@Esposch

No it's not.

Sure you might be able to find games on sale for $79 a couple months after they come out, or closer to release date if you live in a big city.

Otherwise your stuck with the $109-119 price tag for retail.

Ouch, i didnt know the exchange rate ended up like that.

A more expensive console with fewer features. It fits the description I often give to the PSP Go.... This can't be good.

@Red Deer

As of my posting this, 1 Australian dollar = 1.0174 U.S. dollars.

It has nothing to do with the exchange rate. Just $$ hungry companies.

Maybe they think we don't have the internet and won't check other regions prices cause we are coutry red necks idk ): ?

... And everyone forgot New Zealand. Again. Not that I really care. The cost is the same as the UK price when converted, but more than the US price by NZ$100 (about US$65). I wanted it badly but now I'm just going to wait. A revision of that 3D screen but with better viewing angles.
