Duke Nukem Forever 'Balls of Steel' Edition: Is this some kind of bust?

If you thought Duke Nukem Forever was tacky before, wait until you see the collector's edition. Well, we suppose you've already seen the collector's edition -- that's it above.

The "Balls of Steel" Edition (yep), revealed to DNF "First Access Club" members, is overloaded with stuff, including a hardcover artbook, postcards, a logo sticker, a comic book, poker chips, dice, playing cards, a foldable papercraft, and -- oh yeah -- a bust of Duke Nukem. There's even a numbered certificate of authenticity, to prove to others that it's the genuine article. Notable omissions include steel stress balls and, in fact, anything spherical or metal.

The Balls of Steel Edition will be available in limited quantities for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC at launch (the week of May 3).

Update: 2K has provided additional details in its press release (in full after the break), revealing that the Balls of Steel Edition will be exclusive to Amazon and GameStop in North America -- for $100.

Actually, no...

Quick history: In the original Duke Nukem 3D, you run across a Duke Nukem pinball machine, using the pinball machine makes Duke quip "I've got balls of steel!"

Then someone used it on a sound board ro make prank phone calls, and that's where the majority of young kids know Duke Nukem from.

I was hoping they would create some kind of video documentary for the development of this game. That's something I would want.

@(Unverified) They couldn't do the video documentary because they would've had to charge $300 just to cover the cost of discs, and then they wouldn't have all fit in the box set.

I would've preferred if they called it the "Rip off Your Head and Shit Down Your Neck Edition".

Kinda wish I had the money for that. Duke Nukem cards, dice and poker chips are extremely tempted. And the bust makes a good paintball target.

Since I waited... forever, for this game I may just have to pay $40 for this awesome package.

Just thinking of someone paying $100 for a Duke Nukem game is slightly hilarious. Would be pretty funny if the box is empty and has a card that says the Special Edition extras are being pushed back.

That's a shame. If this company had the foresight to sell in the UK I would certainly have bought it.

I'll put that difference saved towards my 3DS I guess.

I seriously think they should have had the "Vapour Edition" where the front of the box has nothing but smoke and mirrors.
