Call of Duty: Black Ops extra modes unlocked this weekend
40
Good news: Just for President's Day, Activision is unlocking Call of Duty: Black Ops' two secret modes: Dead Ops Arcade, the top-down dual-stick shooter hidden in a DOS emulator, and the Presidential zombie fight known as "Five" that's unlocked upon completion of the single-player campaign. They'll remain unlocked throughout the weekend -- free of charge -- so get 'em before they return to Easter Egg status.

@EJ A
Because finishing the campaign is such a difficult 4 hour task.
Plus everyman and his dog who has even looked up CODBLOPS on google should know about the DOS command unlock.

How about releasing the 4 Zombie maps that you only got with the collectors edition. You know the one that sold out in the first week? I'd like to play those and my friends who have it would like some people to play with... Shame there is no way to buy them months after release.

@MarkHawk So your telling me since I was smart and payed $20 more then you, you should just get the maps for free now because you waited a month??????????

not free, id pay 15$ for it. probably the only time id say spending 15$ on maps for COD would be worth it.

@(Unverified) No, he's saying he wants to be able to buy them to expand your (and the people who do have the maps) player base.

@(Unverified) Wouldn't necessarily say you were being smart by paying $20 more for zombie maps.

I'd say you're an impatient burk for paying full price to get the latest shootan game ASAP rather than waiting a few weeks for the price to drop...
... but that might be a bit harsh.

Whats the point?! The Dead Ops Arcade can be unlock at any time just by putting DOA into the computer and the other one unlocks just by beating the game. Most everyone should have these unlock by now. lol

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard....who hasn't unlocked these yet??

It's not a DOS emulator. The commands don't even resemble the ones used in DOS.
It's a faux UNIX-style terminal.

Why would anybody who hasn't beaten the campaign still be playing this game?

@Boring K
Because the campaign sucked. So I went straight to the multiplayer and stopped playing the campaign. Seriously, the story was ok, but the actual gameplay in single player was boring and bogged down with cutscenes and set pieces. There was too much crap in between the actual first person shooting to keep me interested. The type of campaign they built required a great story, not the mediocre one we got.

I really can't comprehend why ALL of you are somehow bitching about this? Does it somehow affect you in a negative way if you've already unlocked this? NO. It only benefits those who decided not to go through the campaign for whatever reason, however few people it may be. It's not like they're charging you for this!
There's people who are just buying the game now, now they can play Five for ONE weekend fresh out of the box. For me, I refused to go through the campaign because of 1 the convoluted story, and 2 the fact that i went half way through it on veteran and i realized some of my trophies didn't unlock because this game is glitched as F***! so this is a nice little bonus for me for just this ONE weekend.
You guys really need to chill out with all the negative attitude towards certain games. I know it may be the cool thing to do nowadays but now you're just making yourself look about as cool as the last fool who posted the same exact comment as you.
/end pointless rant

No one's bitching. Just pointing out the semi-pointlessness. People that don't know how to get the extra games could just look online, even though this is easier. It would've made more sense to release a special variant, skin type, etc that you couldn't get otherwise.
