I would guess in the meantime it wouldn't be a bad idea to download the console demo to get an idea of what to look out for.I know it dosen't have K&M controls or video optimization but id assume the overall content is the same.

@RKN And I'm glad my 360 crapped out again, first had the E74 error two years ago. Now its rattling horribly with any disc in there. My brother did want to keep it for Gears of War 3 since those jerks at Epic won't release it for PC (we'd both prefer to play Gears 2/3 on PC by FAR).
Guess I'll have to trash it and get a spare 360 later in the year. Feels good to trash a console for PC gaming. : D

I played the demo on Xbox and was embarrassed as soon as the super gravelly voiced outer-space solider/bounty-hunter/whatever started talking about the generic mutants and vendetta he had against some generic sounding bad guy. This game is juvenile, and that's coming for a mid 20's guy who still laugh at the penis game when he overhears people doing it. The gameplay was also pretty generic. But then again, everything Epic puts out has always been generic and juvenile, but at least UT was schizophrenically fun, and I was much younger.

Not every parody needs to be excused from being total trash because it's a parody. Look at Scary Movie 3+, Epic Movie, Super Hero movie, and all those bad parody movies. Sure they're parodies, but they're still horribly unfunny and flat out bad.

And I also realize Epic doesn't make it, but it is part of their division, and while they may be producing, it still reeks of Epic Games. And yes I know it's developed on UE3, which is why it looks like an Epic game. It's the substance that reeks of Epic, not the outer layers.

Kaizan thinks it's a bad parody. Parroting "DERP IT'S A PARODY" one more time doesn't make his opinion magically disappear. People in general have a lower standard for parodies (i.e., stories can be bad if they're parodies), but it reaches a point where the parody itself is bad.

I think at this point pretty much everyone has figured out this'll be a cruddy consolized port on the scale of GTAIV. GFWL is enough to make it a no-buy for a lot of people. I personally had to spend six hours getting all my games to work the last time MS pushed a GFWL update that refused to play nice with Steam.

No offense man, but that review wasn't very helpful. It was just brief cam footage of part of a level and a guy talking about how cool the game was overall. Even if it's the full game, it's really more of a preview than a review, especially considering the video was made before he/you/whoever finished the game.

...Huh, what a strange move. It's been sitting in my Steam cart since it popped up for pre-purchase, but I was wary as I don't like spending $60 on PC games. This does not give me great confidence that the PC version will be worthwhile...even though RPS has given glowing previews of that version, I think I'll hold off until I can try the demo.
What's weird is I probably would've pulled the trigger if they'd said nothing about a demo. Maybe I'm overthinking this, and there's nothing wrong with the PC version. Maybe. Regardless, I think I'll wait.

I'm kind of surprised this isnt just a 360 exclusive. The 360 version gets the beta access (obvously the other versions cant) for the same price as the PS3 version. It seems like 360 owners are more interested too. They also are releasing it on the same day as Killzone 3 for PS3, pretty odd.

I don't understand this, other UE3 games such Batman look great. Clearly Epic does not know how to work with it's own engine.
I want to buy it on PC but it had that damned Windows Live.

I think this game will fail HARD,butI still bought it for the same reason 90% of others did The GOW3 beta. The only three things are whip, kick, shoot and there seems to be no PvP. None the less I will give the game one playthrough, than not touch it until the Gears Beta is here.
