Oh no, if I were a media outlet, I wouldn't want to be blacklisted by TopWare, maker of such fine games as.......uh......hmm. Nevermind.

Another example of Topware's poor business practices.

South Peak needs to shut Topware up and let PR do their...well..PR.

@Magnalon Southpeak is the absolute worst they have no right to tell anyone anything, ever.

I'd pay people for fake reviews all the time as a publisher seeing how the gaming press has absolutely no credibility what-so-ever and every publisher knows it. None.

Are you aware of SouthPeak's history? They're even worse than Topware. Do a search on Joystiq and you'll see. They've screwed multiple developers out of funds they were owed.

Just like everything else TopWare has done, this announcement comes amateur and half-assed.

Meh... I could barely make it through the tutorial. The voice acting is incredibly bad. It sounds like people just reading lines without any context or emotion. And the character make this motion where they stick their hands out to the side while they talk over and over and over. Got on my nerves. Ive heard people game gets better later on, but I didn't have the patience to get there. Maybe in the summer.

I'm in "The Swallows" and I disagree. The main character actually sounds good this time around. He has a Christian Bale tone, which I dig. He's a no BS, sarcastic a-hole. The rest of the acting is hit or miss, but so goes with the territory. Many praised Bethesda releases have some characters that sound truly awful. Not every character's actor can hit a homerun, sadly. Overall, though, it's about on par with more high profile fantasy RPG titles.

It's a shame you quit playing because the game starts to improve very shortly after the tutorial. I agree that it makes a poor first impression but an hour or two of patience pays off in spades. Some voice acting is bad but most of it is acceptable. Nice landscapes, smooth engine, amusing side quests, fun crafting...there's much to like. I will concur that the cutscenes are terrible, however.

That's what everyone who sticks with the game seems to be saying. I'll probably go back to it at some point.

In my desperate need for Skyrim i finally gave up and bought TW2 from Steam.
After 20 minutes I got really depressed and turned it off. Skyrim I want you. Now.

Skyrim looks great, no doubt, but if it's anything like Oblivion, I won't even last 20 minutes. Morrowind was great, Oblivion was not. Such a huge, huge disappointment. I'm glad Bethesda ditched Gamebryo for Skyrim. What a janky engine that was. Truly awful.

@KungFuChaosNinja

well... for me Oblivion just had that something that made me WANT to explore the world and solve the quests... TW2 have that special something that makes me want to turn off my computer and read a book instead.
But hey... a lot of people thought Eragon was a good fantasy movie too... all I'm trying to say is different strokes for different folks.

Hopefully this game isn't complete garbage like the first one. It truely was the biggest waste of time in my entire life.

People that buy their games, like me.

While Two Worlds was awful, it sold a ton of units.

And Two Worlds 2 is great, and it's sold over 1 million in Europe, and some more since it launched in the US.

Is this game worth getting?

I'm waiting for it to hit the bargain bin in any case. Which should happen soon, according to my complex calculations.

Why does the release date on the right say "Available now" when the game is scheduled for launch in 2012?

Why not? Two Worlds II was a vast improvement and most gamers are enjoying their time with it. Reality Pump shows their dedication to improving the franchise. Why needlessly bash someone or something that is trying so hard? You know you don't need to play it, right? Just go on your merry way, friend. We don't all want Call of Duty or Halo. Some of us like these deep and rich European RPG titles.

Two Worlds 2 is most excellent. Such a huge step up from the awful first game.

I will continue to buy Reality Pump's games after Two Worlds II. They deserve out money. However, I will continue to trash Topware, Zuxxez, and SouthPeak. Crappy, crappy companies. It's too bad Reality Pump has to deal with them. :(
