Well, I've got a $50 voucher for Xmas that is for Gamestop, so that 's where my order will be. Cannot wait for this game.

Didn't see the mention that Rockstar are also offering a t-shirt if you order of their website. Wonder if it will be the same as Target.

Wow, a whole new bonus case (I assume cases are pretty long) from Gamestop and Wal-Mart. I was thinking I would get the one I didn't want from gamestop (or Ebgames as it is here [the only game shop available]) but this looks really nice.

Extra ammo is always a plus :)

Cant wait for this game but damn do i hate pre order bonuses... these extra cases better be DLC available to all purchasers after a few weeks or so.

5 bucks for the two cases seems fair enough to me.

make it happen rockstar.

Yeah, I don't mind the clothing/armour/weapon as retail bonuses so much, but it really irks me when it's stuff that truly adds to the game, like missions or bonus areas. If you're going to hold game play out at least do it for the "Collectors edition" or something, not based on retailer.

I don't mind the exclusive suits but exclusive cases...it makes it harder to decide where to purchase, if it was just suits I'd buy it anywhere not caring about them but I usually don't care about exclusives and these ones annoy me...

Does this method really encourage preorders?

My completely uneducated view on this matter would be that by including the content in the game, rather than whoring them out to different red-light districts would encourage more sales.

Instead we get less content because we didn't plonk down money to someone somewhere at a specific time (also that my country doesn't really do pre-order deals, so I miss out regardless)

@Premature ejaculation man Be nice if we went back to when it was a Gamestop painted car instead of a nice (but occasionally OP for singleplayer), cheat that you wear. Or at least early access to the content.

I agree with you 100%. Retailer-specific preorder bonuses have gotten completely out of hand. The worst is when you have to decide what'll be the better bonus option when you haven't even played the game yet. L.A. Noire could be super hard and the preorder missions complete crap, making the suits incredibly useful, or you could get an outfit in the second mission that outclasses these preorder suits in every way.

It's to the point that I'm tempted to say "screw it" and create my own bonus: Playing something else for a while and purchasing these games a few months after release for $30-40 off retail price.

Extra content for free on a game you already plan to buy is a bonus regardless, but it is irritating to wonder if you;re choosing the more enjoyable extra or missing out on all the other extras that will likely become something you have to spend more money on later if you want them.

Suits that increase stats are game destabilizers, They can sometimes break the immersion by making you more powerful. I mean it's basically a cheat giving you extra powers. Extra stages on the other hand are more content, game extenders, as opposed to something that could shorten the game.

Either way if you're going to buy the game any way all it really does it make you pick your point of purchase early and that's all that matters to a retailer. People on the fence will simply wait it out.

I can't find it either. They must've sold out the copies that they were supposed to be getting. Anyways, the $30 deal has been gone for a while now, and I wouldn't expect it to return until way after release date.

Annnnnd....of course Amazon gets the not-so-great pre-order bonus, Target getting the worst relative shafting out of all the retailers.

I do hope those extra cases go to DLC early. I could buy 2 extra copies and then return them at a later date, but that's alot of extra work and a general waste of gas.

@kentuckyfried Actually Amazon had the best preorder DLC for Killzone 3. 3 free MP unlock points, which is essentially 3 free levels in the multiplayer. That's better IMO than the Gamestop 24 hour everything unlocked bonus as the unlock points are permanent.

Amazon has first day delivery for this title at an extra $1, the last time I checked, which is a good feature for Amazon instead of this the 1-week later typical free shipping.

The release day delivery from Amazon is only good for games that aren't going to be huge day one releases. Amazon screwed up the COD: Black Ops launch amazingly bad. They never could get their story straight on whose fault it was either. I didn't get my copy until 2-3 days after release day even though I have Prime and ordered well ahead of release day.

I'll never do a pre-order with Amazon for a game I really want on release day again.

You can always be an evil bastard and buy the game a 2nd time, then return your Amazon.com copy later to that brick and mortar retailer...I try not to do that too much but sometimes I cave into weakness.

The bad part about first day shipping is that it can sometimes come in late in the evening...good thing I didn't actually take a day off from work for release day delivery of black ops. It didn't arrive until roughly 5-6 p.m. at night.

The sad thing is even if you preorder at a gamestop you run the risk of them selling your game before you get there. They're supposed to hold them for 24 hours but there have been plenty of times people get there after work onthe day of and they already sold it because they had so many walk ins. The whole purpose of preorders is to assure you that you get your game.

Hopefully there will be some sort of decent limited edition that includes all of the cases...

Kind of peeves me off Gamestop gets the actual decent pre order bonuses usually (see Deus Ex for a recent example) as I don't like to give them my money and I'd prefer to go to Best Buy.

and that attitude is probably why they paid extra for that pre-order bonus.

I'm more a fan of money. Amazon has the whole video-game credit thing going for it... paying $40 (using my existing $20 credit from prior purchase) and getting $10 in credit towards my next game. Who cares about the DLC? Amazon had my purchase already.

I don't mind my local gamestops. They always take care of me, and give me free game swag from time to time;

One store I snagged a Samus Aran shirt with "Intergalatic Bounty Hunter: Saving The Galaxy one planet at a time" on the back. Another had a Batan Kaitos Banner they gave me. If you are nice to your retailers they will be nice to you.

I am THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED in the lack of a Special Edition Fedora to wear upon my head while sitting on my couch, playing this game. Or, later, while sneaking through the rain splattered streets of a corrupt city.

I'm definitely not a fan of these retailer specific pre-order bonuses. At first glance I thought I'd need to pick one (Gamestop for me because I've got several gift cards) but everybody who's commented that these story missions will be available as DLC I'm sure are right. Rockstar can't be stupid enough to limit story content forever, they're going to want the extra DLC money.

So I'm going to do what I intended to do all along, wait a couple of days to read reviews of the final game before I purchase.

Exclusive in-game bonuses for pre-ordering is probably the worst thing to happen this generation. Give away DLC for free is a fine pre-order bonus, but why make it the only way to get these extra missions? Just frustrating. And the in-game outfit making your character stronger is absolute trash. Even if I got it, I would just turn it off. If you're so excited about a game that you're willing to pre-order, why ruin the game by playing through it with "stats" the developers didn't intend the player to have?
