Grasshopper announcing new title next month

Suda51's Japanese dev studio, Grasshopper Manufacture, is working on a ton of stuff. Between Shadows of the Damned, Sine Mora, codename D and an uannounced NGP project, we have to imagine the folks at Grasshopper don't have much free time. Regardless, the studio will take a timeout on March 30 to host a Ustream event, during which Grasshopper will announce a new game -- perhaps that NGP title?

Dubbed "Grasstream 2: Travis vs. Garcia" (named for the main characters of No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned), the event will feature frank discussion from Suda51 on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, an acoustic performance of music from No More Heroes, the aforementioned "new game announce," and "hands-on impressions" of said game from "Vanilla Beans and model/gamer Kayo Sato." -GRASSTREAM 2: TRAVIS VS. GARCIA-

Tokyo, Japan – February 28th, 2011 - Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. celebrates 13 years keeping the spirit of Punk alive in games with our second UStream event, Grasstream 2: Travis vs. Garcia at Shinjuku Loft Plus One! Travis, star of Grasshopper's No More Heroes series, will come face-to-face with the hero of our latest game, Shadow of the Damned's Garcia Hotspur. Will Garcia prove worthy of Travis' legacy?

But this clash of legendary heroes is just the tip of the iceberg! Grasshopper's taking Grasstream to a new level this year with more interviews, more live music, more guests, and best of all, a new game announcement!

Grasshopper Manufacture is also honored to have the cast of one of gaming's most popular podcasts, 8-4 Play, joining us to provide English commentary for all of our international fans.

As a special treat for the fans who attend, we've prepared a special Grasshopper Manufacture-themed menu, original Grasshopper Manufacture cocktails, and a very special present. Just being nitpicky, but the first reference to NGP is spelled NPG.

The idea of Travis and Garcia in a game sounds like a blast, but sadly I don't think that that's what they're doing.

Actually that'd be quite awesome. I think once I get a NGP I'll play some NPG on it. mwhahahaha

But whatever happened to "Project S" or whatever it was called that Suda was working on with Kojima? I was hoping that was going to end up being a Snatcher remake, but I haven't heard much recently...

The Suda/Kojima collaboration is Shadows of the Damned... no, wait, or was this the Suda/Mikami collab? Can't recall.

That's my suspicion, as well. They've been teasing a 3DS game for a while, as well as a Contact sequel; I think you can draw the same conclusion I have out of this.

Hopefully its another new IP. As great as NMH is, they have some mad creative power behind them that should be used to its full potential.

I'm pretty sure its an xbox live arcade game, that estaban from call of podcast is producing. They just hit a milestone on their unannounced game, so they're probably going to unveil that.

Ugh. Please don't make an NGP game... make it for a decent system. :\
