So I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I've decided I want to follow through: Let's create an online petition to show EA so that they would allow DICE to start officially developing Mirror's Edge 2. We would start it after DICE is finished with BF: 3, so that perhaps it would seem more reasonable to them after that huge release is said and done.

Call me unrealistic, and this would most likely result in nothing, but we must try. We must. As someone who's desperate for this.

EA already said they want DICE to focus on BF3, hence the reason the Mirrors Edge 2 idea was rejected so they could focus on it.

Too bad it wasn't feasible to incorporate Backbreaker or NFL 2K5 animation tech (both superior to Madden). EA's exclusivity agreement with the NFL has done little to help video games but quite a bit to harm them.

Meanwhile, DICE is making another war game while Mirror's Edge 2 sits disregarded. I love the gaming industry, but sometimes it just drives me crazy.

still boner inducing, maybe more so. can't wait to throw grenades free throw style, or better yet kick them across the map.

Part of me wishes they went for euphoria, but I'm sure they had their reasons. Hopefully this will work the same way, if not better.

@Batman In their interview with GI they said that they considered 3rd party tech but decided to go in-house because none of it was really what they wanted as far as 1st person animation goes.

Cool, thanks.
And that is true, Euphoria is more of a third person affair.

@Batman Yep. and what they're using wasn't originally designed 1st person but it's very modular and easy to use.

Many people were making fun of BF3 when it was announced that they'd be using some animations from EA Sports games like Fifa. By the way he described it, this will make BF3 more dynamic. Cheers guys, I love this kinda info.

That means they should definitely have announcers commentating the battles. Then have a highlight reel after.

Regardless of whatever Mirror's Edge sold, I really hope that DICE have decided to implement a little bit of that tech in Battlefield.
