SOCOM 4 beta dated, PlayStation Plus members get early access

Everyone is invited to the SOCOM 4 beta starting April 5. But you'll have opportunities to get in earlier:

March 15 - Private Beta. "We'll be contacting eligible players soon."
March 22 - PlayStation Plus early access
March 29 - Access included with Killzone 3
April 5 - Free public download on the PlayStation Store

The beta will include all of the game's competitive multiplayer modes -- Suppression, Last Defense, Uplink and Bomb Squad -- playable on two maps: Port Authority and Assault & Battery. It's scheduled to conclude on April 13.

Unfortunately, the beta won't give you a taste of the five-player co-op mode. You'll have to wait until April 19 to try that out.

awesome, I have it preordered with that Move Bundle, I'm hoping it's good, at least this will give me the chance to try it. But I will probably keep the bundle anyways, at that price and you get all that and the game, pffft highway robbery.

Can't wait, glad to see my Plus membership is getting me something.
If the beta is any good then Socom Full Deployment Bundle here I come.

Not amused. Killzone 3 buyers should get it at the same time.

@Faenix As long as Socom 4 is good, I don't care when the beta starts. Most public betas are done by people only interested in playing the game early, not people interested in finding and reporting bugs/exploits/issues.

Great job Sony of screwing over people who might have bought Killzone 3 for the SOCOM 4 beta. I mean KZ3 is awesomesauce in and of itself but still.

You'd be surprised how many posts I saw about people buying Bulletstorm just for the Gears Beta...some people have no patience.

I'd be willing to say MOST people that bought Crackdown did it for the Beta of Halo 3.....a lot of people that got Bullet Storm on 360....got it for the Beta of Gears 3..... some people bought inFamous for the Uncharted 2 beta and undoubtedly some people bought this for the SOCOM Beta....it happens....

As a PS+ member, I guess I don't need that code that came with KZ3 anymore...

Yup. Gonna give it to an amigo that played the hell out of the KZ3 beta, but was too cheap to buy a retail copy to get his own code! Gotta keep feeding his free game (betas) addiction. (I know you're reading this, cheapo amigo!)

Which is 2 weeks after the public beta. That's pretty late for a MP beta.

The Open Killzone 3 Beta was the same way....as have plenty other betas been...

@Chris DPSN AggieCEO XBLThe Aggi But dude K3 had that beta last year too. Which gave them time to work out some bugs. Socom is releasing the beta very late in my opinion.

I wish all betas were this comprehensive.

Just reserved the bundle with move like right before i got home and read this.Im really thinking about going back out and picking up killzone 3 but i really wasnt all that into the demo,although i hear the multiplayer is better than the story mode.Also it would give me another game to use with move when i pick up the Socom bundle.

Pretty stoked for this game. If it's half as fun with the sure shot as killzone 3 is then it'll be one of the best shooters all year.

M.A.G. had a beta too. I'm guessing that this game will be broke at time of release just like M.A.G.

Ohhh please don't suck. I really want to play the shit out of this game.

I'm a PSN+ subscriber so yea will be getting this early. Awesome!

Can't wait til the 29th to start cappin' people with my Sharpshooter.
