How? Those games used to cost like $50 when they first came out.

And now they're worth a dollar. Times change. 30 clams for these games is a rip off. Especially digital downloads that have no resale value.

So? So are many other games that go on Steam and go on sale on steam. $5 for Bioshock. $2.49 for KOTOR, etc. And these games are older and only two from this pack are new to the PC

Crazy Taxi has been ported far too many times to be worth much VALUE in the eyes of gamers who care about anything Dreamcast.

Sonic DX was a bad port and showed the game's serious flaws and I doubt much has been addressed with it in this release. Outside of nostalgia the game just isn't very fun once you're done being Sonic. It also begs to be destroyed once you add in the sugar-coated voice acting and Big the Cat (goodness I hated having to control him...)

Sega Bass Fishing is perhaps the oddest choice ever, at least for your debut of these packs. What made it endearing was its fishing controller and let's just face it, a fishing game isn't very deep or worth much to most people these days.

So, as a pack it's ridiculously bad. And Where's the first Space Channel? Sega just doesn't make much sense these days.

The potential for big profit outweighs any stingy licensing issues they may have with the games people actually WANT.

Haters gonna hate. 4 games for 30 bucks is still a steal. People need to stop acting like they're entitled to cheap games. Sure, Bass fishing is bad., but Space Channel 5, Crazy Taxi, and Sonic Adventure ( sonic/tails levels are still fun) are more then worth it. Plus if you bought them separately it's $40 vs $30 for the whole. It's like you getting Bass fishing free.

@supersonic124 Not only that but you can get a ton of hours out of those 3 games. You can't say that for most $60 games these days.

Not really, I mean you may not like the games and they are cheaper if you buy them used for Dreamcast, but not many people have Dreamcast's anymore. The ports for Sonic Adventure DX on PSN and XBLA are $15, and it's only 8.99 on Steam. You may find a better price on eBay, sure, but that's not the point. And it's not a bad port, it's a good port of a game most people think is bad. Plus some PC's can't play Crazy Taxi because it's too old, and Steam fixes this, if your PC can play the original Crazy Taxi then definitely buy that for so much cheaper online, but if not then it's a safer bet to pay an extra few dollars for this.

Can't wait for mod support to hit Crazy Taxi so you can put Pizza Hut and KFC advertising back in the game.

@JohnDM I'm always surprised by this comment, it's not like anyone in any other community actively wants advertising in their games. For Crazy Taxi, even though it is absolutely not based in any sort of reality, people really do want to be advertised to! In my opinion, save the mod support, go buy a pizza and play Crazy Taxi.

@Clumsyorchid I kid of course, but what's weirder is the change of music to more generic sounds. I understand that they no longer have the rights to The Offspring but that's like if Super Mario Bros had a different soundtrack, it would feel off somehow.

If anything, some better textures are needed. Sega has just been incredibly lazy with their catalog of games and seems to refuse updating anything at all.

@JohnDM I tend to think that with this type of game, you can't please everyone. If it's a port of the original, people want it to be exactly the same.

So update textures and one side is angry because it's not the original anymore. Don't update textures and another sees it as lazy.

License the music back in and raise the price by 10$ and one group is happy the music is there, but hates the cost.

etc etc. Though for the music, you can buy these original FOUR tracks on your own and play them on repeat in the background with the ingame music set to zero. Remember, only FOUR tracks!

Forget upgrading textures, I just want the textures that were in the original game....which they've tampered with. I seriously doubt it would be hard to get KFC, Levi, and Pizza Hut to sign on a game they've already signed off on.

Anyway you look at it.. missing music, missing building names, and a horrible line up of games for the price, this "collection" is an embarrassment and won't make me jump into the digital dreamcast realm anytime soon. Do you know how many dreamcast games I could get for 30 dollars?? And they're VERY readily available for cheap.

I like well-placed advertising in my games. Be it realism or just seeing familiar places, as long as it doesn't go overboard and interfere with the game experience, I'm perfectly fine with it and so are many others. It's not just people who play Crazy Taxi (I never have); some people just like it. It's the same with movies; there's nothing wrong with going down a street and seeing a McDonalds, that's a perfectly normal occurrence. In fact, I find it more distracting if they change McDonalds to something else.

More importantly, with a real Dreamcast, you'd be able to play Jet Grind Radio.

(And Shenmue, if you want to play that way)

I'd be all over this if I regarded any of those titles as interesting.

Crazy taxi was fun it was sorta obligatory if you had a DC to have a copy.
Sonic adventures was sorta cool
Bass and Space not even in my ballpark.

When I remember the dreamcast the first thing that comes to mind is Skies of Arcadia and PSO. What would be awesome is if they resurrected PSO on steam. Let people run their own servers and pop into multiplayer games with their friends. I'd be all freaking over that.

Skies of Arcadia was one of the best RPGs of its time and definitely one of my favorite DC games. If they released that on Steam, I would be all over that.

Im sorry but 30 bucks for only four games. Which are over 10 years old in which only one in my opinion is good (Crazy Taxie) is just to much. I'm sorry but Sega how about you rerelease something great like Shenmue 1 & 2 or the Paner Dragon Saga.

Saga Bass Fishing really!!!

Just an FYI to buyers, Sega didn't do a very good job as far as making sure saving and the configurations worked for each game, you'll have to check the forums for fixes.

@Zeoinx I know. I think its because The Offspring was the "main" band due to them having the title screen, and because they were the only band in Crazy Taxi 2.

Don't buy SA:DX, even for the nostalgic. They reported the game, and it has no Widescreen, HD, Anti-Aliasing, or Anisotropic Filtering. There was already a better port for PC (remember it being in a Scholastic book club when I was in 3rd Grade) that could do all this. Also, the game sucks way harder than I remember, and where the hell is Jet Set Radio (Jet Grind Radio in America.)

Also, Episode 3 anyone? (Note: For now on, every Steam-related post will end with remark.)

I've been in the middle of quite the paradox, because I wanted to get Space Channel 5 Part 2 for the 360, but I only have 22 MB of hard drive space (also, they haven't even announced release date of the downloadable version), and I didn't want to pay $30 for the disc with added bass fishing and crappy ports of other games, so I'm definitely getting that Steam version, even though it's probably going to be on sale for 50-75% off in a month or two.
