The neverending search for loot begins this April on PSN, and features both online and offline co-op play -- Gameloft promises "30 levels with an immense world of dungeons, villages and forests to explore." Perhaps "Dungeon/Village/Forest Hunter: Alliance" would've been a more apt title. It's also got a certain je ne sais quoi to it, no? That one's free, Gameloft. The next one'll cost ya.
Dungeon Hunter: Alliance hacks and slashes onto PSN this April

In Gameloft's long-running series of ... borrowed game archetypes, we've yet to see a console dungeon crawler from the company. With Dungeon Hunter: Alliance, however, the French developer is setting its torch to "light" and confronting the diablos of the darkness head on.

looks awesome. off topic, but how come the PS3 isn't getting Torchlight?

@Howard Roark microsoft is publishing, and the developers are asses.
the main reason is because:
1. it started multiplat.
2. they said they were "relieved" they didn't have to do the extra work when they got a publishing deal.
3. they screwed the fans that were anticipating the PSN release because now there is no chance of it coming to PSN at all.
sure, more money with less work is awesome, but their statement regarding their deal pissed me off.

Because Sony fans are smart enough to just buy the PC version that has mod support?

@Kage25
yup and they are Douche Bags Cause Of IT. I personally think no one should buy games from that Dev cause " they were relieved that they didn't have to do extra work " I personally take that the company doesn't care about potential fans of something people call " a great game "
and also they don't seem to be hard working people or they don't seem to ( let me put this the best way possible ) put a lot of TLC And Time/Effort to making the game to a wide market of consoles.
I hope they Choke on that Money. they had my money soon as they announced it for PSN but since were screwed over and never bothered to come out with it till the release of it on XBLA is a huge FU too me and many others wanting it to be released on PS3.

Just the name??? All I kept thinking was "RED WARRIOR NEEDS FOOD BADLY!" (but, in a good way)
Yeah, I'll scoop this too.

I will be shamelessly buying this game. Sony get to making the next Untold Legend game.

@Einlander FFFUUUU I loved Untold Legends. My best friend had the original for the PSP when it came out and it was so much fun.
I know it's licensed by Sony or whatever, but I still wish it would come out for XBLA.

@Einlander forget that, where is my Champions of Norrath 3? Flaws asside, that game was a riot to play online.
Would also be a nice tie in to Everquest 3.

I like where this is going, each series that does good on iOS gets bumped up to PSN. Shine on Gameloft, shine on you crazy diamond.

I'm playing Dungeon Hunter II on my iPhone right now, and I gotta say I'm pretty amazed at what they can cram into such a device; sprawling quest with side missions, full leveling system, tons of items/weapons, good sound and visuals, multiplayer... we're talking about my phone here.

See, Gameloft has the good sense not to release their games on PC because they know everyone would pirate the shit out of them on principle. I'm surprised they do business on Android even.
"What's that? You're just 'borrowing' art styles and design tropes? Hope you don't mind if I 'borrow' your 1s and 0s."
I'm really only kidding, as their games are quite functional and technically sound, and no one can copyright whole genres anyway =P
I hope, for the sake of PS3-only gamers, that this manages to capture Torchlight's charm as well as its gameplay.
