Smuggle Truck adds 'Legal Immigration' mode

Owlchemy Labs' Smuggle Truck has added a "Legal Immigration" mode in response to critic's knee-jerk reactions to the satirical game. Developer Alex Schwartz showed us a placeholder screen at PAX East, but told us that Owlchemy had an actual screen they would be adding shortly, he sent us the new screen (pictured above) today.

The Legal Immigration mode can be accessed through the game's main menu and is a screen with a 20 year countdown. Why 20 years? "Well that's the greater than 10 years it takes for someone to obtain a green card," Schwartz guesstimated. "Plus the multiple occurrences of 'lost paperwork' that are bound to happen during the process."

Owlchemy has a FAQ on its site about the game's themes and the studio's decision to produce a title on the topic of illegal immigration. Smuggle Truck will be submitted shortly to Apple and is expected to be available on the iOS App Store in April.

Hopefully you'll be able to change. I've tried changing my avatar a week ago and the pic wouldn't stick. I'm pretty sure the pic was within the requirements too.

@TaintedKane - Don't get me started. I've been using this shop I did in five minutes for years because nothing I've tried has gotten my updated one to stick. It's the same resolution, the same file size, the same format, and everything.

Try using Fire Fox if you're not already. It was the only browser that worked for me.

Be persistent. Keep clicking that upload photo button till the internet itself can not take it anymore.

At least that's how I changed my avatar.

@Assmar Well... well played if you don't know anyone who legally obtained a green card and then became a citizen, and it took no-where near 20 years, or if you believe the 'let them all in (because they vote for us' politicos.

Satire on top of satire. I like it.

I also admit to having a soft spot for "dark" humor, and this game seems right up my alley. When I saw the trailer I couldn't stop laughing, mostly because someone was brave enough to do this. If i had something with iOS on it, I'd get this game.

Final note: there is no such thing as "politically correct" satire, if you ask me. The easiest way to show you don't like this game is to not play it. Simple as that.

Thats actually really funny. I legally imigrated to the United States back in 09, it was the most stressful time of my life.

That being said, Immigration in the U.S is 10x easier than other countries like England.

I wish he would've just told the critics to get over themselves.

This works too though.
