Looking for something to do on the cheap this weekend? Sure, you could go down to the lake to go swimming or hang outside the laundromat like you had planned, or you could boot up the old Compy 386 and play a free game!
Uber Entertainment's Monday Night Combat is free to play on Steam this weekend, until 1pm PT on Sunday, March 20. Additionally, if you like what you play and want to buy the game, it's 33 percent off ($10.04) on Steam until Monday, March 21 at 10am PT.
Now, we're not telling you what to do, but think about it: does the lake or laundromat have hot female assassins who can turn invisible at will? Yeah, we thought so -- and if that is the case, you've got bigger problems to worry about. We'd suggest talking to a realtor.
No, not the one who sold you the house in Assassintown.

I liked that one David. Especially the Ass-ass-in-town part.

I swear, MNC looks more and more like Team Fortress 2 every time I see it.

There's the obligatory comment. Wasn't as fast as I expected, though.

@Schlecht
I thought that at first too, for the same reasons already mentioned. It's a class-based multiplayer shooter with graphics that look like TF2. I watched a video (only one so far, I'm downloading it now and then I'll try it myself) and it looks like a very good combination of TF2 and DOTA. It has different classes like TF2, and you escort bots to blow something up like you do in DOTA.

Is this game any good on PC?

Anyone interested in a team-based game that's different should definitely check this out. Don't let the learning curve frustrate you, give it some time to get use to what you are supposed to do. And don't go into this game trying to only kill other players or trying to backstab everyone. This is an objective based game and you wont get anywhere by just trying to frag everyone. Kill bots, build turrets, escort your bots to their moneyball, and once you get a hang of what you are supposed to do, you wont be frustrated and you'll have fun with this game.

They should make a prequel called "Saturday Morning Shoot-Out."

Hmm that's a nice idea for a promotion. Clean and casual.

David you can stop mashing refresh waiting for somebody to get your homestar reference.

I got the Homestar Runner reference.
I also got this game. $10 is a great price for a game I've already spent many hours on. Who cares if my laptop can't run it? Not me.

Does anyone else find it amusing that the game will deactivate itself just before Monday night?

Crap, of course they put it on sale the weekend after I buy it from the Uber booth at PAX for $15. :( At least I got that cardboard tube samurai skin for the assassin.
