SOCOM 4 lets you dance victoriously over your enemy's corpse
66
People will tell you they play games because they're "fun" or whatever, but since the advent of the tea-bag it's all about humiliation. What better way to humiliate an opponent than to dance, so full of life, over their dead, dead corpse? SOCOM 4: US Navy Seals knows what that new hotness is.

I can just imagine throwing my MOVE and Sharpshooter at the T.V as someone does this on my corpse.

As a game based in military realism, i find this disturbing.
It is different that playing something clearly 'game-like' such as Halo, which has little basis in reality. But do you think real Navy Seals glorify killing another human being so much as to do a victory dance over their corpse?

@Kamalot For what it's worth, I think you're right. It's ridiculous that there was an outcry over Medal of Honor's use of Taliban that required a name change, but this will probably go unchallenged by military interest groups.
That's totally supposed to be a dead US military serviceman who died during a skirmish that you're doing the robot over. Seems a little F'ed up.

@Kamalot And let's not get that far ahead: dancing in the battlefield is not that good of a strategy. I mean...I guess unlike in real life, you can get back up after being sniped at for being a showboating jackass.

Have you been in battle? Soldiers do it all the time.
But in all seriousness, it's just a little light hearted fun, which is what makes the series so popular to begin with, you have all this seriousness and boredom like CoD, and boom, out busts your moves on the battlefield, seriousness gone. :D
Personally can't wait for the game myself.

@Kamalot It's a game. Anyone who goes into playing a game looking for realism is deluded. We have simulations for things that people want simulated...racing, sports, not war. Is it more sick for your fake avatar person to dance over an online opponent who probably talked smack for the whole round, or for people to want to actually simulate killing another human? Why arent you complaining about the spray of blood for headshots in games? I know why, because it doesn't detract from game play. Is it stupid? You bet! Who cares? Just you.

1-2-3-4 FIGHT.
Stick to the B-E-A-T.
Get ready to ignite.
You are such a P-Y-T.
Catching all the lights.
Just easy as A-B-C.
That's how we make it right.

This was possible in SOCOM 1. Frankly I'd be surprised if they didn't give this option. Confrontation didn't afaik...

It was actually first introduced in SOCOM 2, which, frankly, was the last amazing SOCOM game.

You all realize that these same animations have been in basically all past SOCOMs, minus the flop that was Confrontation?
I wouldn't go so far to say SOCOM is THAT realistic either. Is it Call of Duty hectic and absurd? NO. Is it as real as it gets as far as military console games go? Still NO.
However is it still decently above most others in the realm of real-world military similarities? Yes. Still not on top though. Just check out the crazy special forces, all black suit, asian chick, and you will find your evidence.

So what? Is this your big revelation? No body here needs to be corrected or schooled. Chances are we know this already. Do you know what I "realize"? That no matter what, "rain on everyones parade", d-bags like you post I will never change my mind about any game I enjoy.

I'm not trying to rain on people's parade. I've played the SOCOM series since 1. I have enjoyed each one minus Confrontation, which I gave a shot and played for a good while.
All I am saying is that the series isn't as "realistic" as people make it out to be in some cases. I just get sick of people who knock a game because of a single feature they don't find pleasing.
Again, not trying to "change" anyone's views or desire to purchase a game, and if anyone is that ridiculous to take someones opinion on a gaming blog that seriously as a total concrete idea to base their choice on, then shame on them.

I don't know why people get so upset at being teabagged. One time I was playing MAG, and the entire opposing squad would get together and teabag bleeding out enemies at the same time. When they did it to me, I thought it was hilarious and let myself bleed out so they could keep doing it.

They should put in a function where if you get shot and killed while dancing over a corpse, a big arrow pops up with the words "DOUCHE" blinking over you.
