Pathetic 5 years into a product cycle the PS3 version of the game is still graphically sub par and has connection issues compared to the 360 version. Whata joke. No interest in Crysis anyway, if i wanted to play a shooter it would be Black Ops or KZ3.

"graphically sub par"? I'm not sure where you or others are getting this from. I've played both versions of the demo and they look the same. The connection issues were the same for the Xbox 360 as well.

If they can't get the demo right, then why the hell would I drop $60 on the real game for.

@ForeverAndEver

What does any COD game have to do with Crysis 2? First of their major differences that are achieved on both engines. The Infinity Ward engine manages sharper textures, but with the sacrifice of other things like more complex dynamic lighting, filter effects, environmental damage, etc, compared to the Crytek engine. But again, it's two completely different games achieving different goals.

if the original Xbox 360 version was pulled due to similar issues and later replaced with an updated release... for the ps3 there isn't time to do that.. so we can wait for one or two patches..

Yes, they look identical. The fanboyism in this Crysis 2 Xbox vs. PS3 debate has gotten boring.

What are you talking about, it's a carbon copy of the 360 version (they even refer to it in the trailer as "console") If you are referring to it not looking as good as the PC version then, well duh! The amount of transistors you can put on a circuit board has quadrupled since the PS3 has come out.

These screenshots do not look even close to identical to me. I couldn't believe how bad the PS3 version looked in there, so I went and tried the demo. Unfortunately, the PS3 version really did look like that. I actually had the game pre-ordered for the PS3, but not anymore. Not after seeing this.

Fine, here is another:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAvwioAx0nE

For some reason, I can't get the HD version to work on that G4 video, so I couldn't tell much from it. In fact, I have a feeling that I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between these games if I was playing them on a 32 inch 720p screen, for instance, but that isn't the case for me. So if someone has a TV like that, they may be able to disregard all of these comparisons, I think. Anyway, I hope the retail version is better so that I can still get it for the PS3, since I do prefer it in general. I didn't mean to sound like I was hating on it or anything. I was just disappointed by the look of that demo.

That would be great... as I was looking to score this for $40 or less to begin with. I wouldn't have to wait so long for a price drop if it was to go the way of HF.

...but then the game would have to be pretty sucky, and not be worth $40, so you would end up losing by having a subpar game. Everybody wins if it turns out to be a jizztastic game that's actually worth $60.

The demo was actually fun. The suit power came in handy and I think Crytek did a decent job creating an atomosphere for the player being a badass supersoldier, atleast better than most. There were some connection issues when, on the rare occation, I did manage to get into a match.

This game has "stinker" written all over it. Should've stuck to pushing tech on PC, Crytek. It's obvious that one platform allowed you more focus and to make a better product.

I'm not much of a pc gamer yet, but I'm currently buying parts for one (my current one is an awful one that can barely run AOE3), but I've always thought this about Crysis. Even though I couldn't play it, I thought it was awesome they were making a game to fully utilize PC capabilities, and it's one of the games that got me really interested in pc games. Of course now the more I look at pc gaming the more I see I like about it, but it does kind of make me sad that Crysis 2 won't be raising the bar again.

I hope they realize that this will NOT win them any fans who were on the fence when they downloaded the demo. In fact, releasing a demo and then having to completely remove it just three days after its appearance on the PSN Store is pretty sad for a developer. I know if I were looking forward to getting the PS3 version and saw this I'd cancel my plans to buy the game right then and there.

This sort of thing is so ridiculous; EA can't even bring itself to simply state that the ball was dropped. "Though many gamers have had a great experience...". Wow. For heaven's sake, the issue at hand is the HUGE problem they are having with connectivity, not how many people probably had a good time.

EA in general has had a horrible time admitting fault in regards with Crysis 2. Hell, they still pin the leak on piracy. Yes, they think the leak magically appeared because of the collective wishing from the pirate community. Nope, the leak wasn't their fault, it was pirates who made them do it. Sure.

It's weird, in that article he says that demos are "prohibatively expensive", but from what I've seen demos really aren't that impressive anymore. All they have to do is put the file online for downloads. Game companies used to group demos together on discs and mail them to you for free just so you could play the game, and those demos used to be awesome.

Nowadays most demos actually make me not want to buy the game.

Yeah, it's more like damage control. They can't get their crap together so they don't let people see said crap. That way, when the game releases with this crap they'll just do the usual "it's because this game is SO awesome that it's breaking the multiplayer! Hang in there while we..uh...get more servers! Yeah, that's it! More servers is all we need!" line.
