This is at least the second time I've witnessed you try to circumvent the "f-word" filter and screw your entire post because of it. Broaden your vocabulary, dood!

@Deuce. You do not simply "see" Mr. Lance Hendriksen's craggy face...you recoil in animalistic fear of it! Get to see him at the end of summer! What does he sign for me? GUN, Millennium, or Mass Effect?

@The Wicker Man: I've always kinda liked seeing him in movies. He's enjoyably creepy. Especially the "OMG I HAVE LOST IT" face he copped in Pumpkinhead. Awesome.

Diddled has a far more comedic flare to it, plus not a whole lot of dudes use it nowadays.

Yeah, I'd say go with diddled.

(With other games in a different time frame etc)
That way my Shepard can relax and get married to liara with blue kids running around. With all she's been through my femshep deserves a break and relaxation.

My regular Shepard can go die though he a huge prick.

I've learned from my mistakes in the past, most RPGs now have a new marketing plan: Release 75% of the game for $60, then charge another $45 for the other 25% as DLC. Then re-release the "original" game with the "DLC" as a game of the year edition for $60 again.
I'll just wait for the game of the year edition.

@buzski The flip side of that is that this model is pretty much required to recoup investment on the game; if they didn't follow it, we'd end up with less than the "75%".

Developing a game is expensive, and it's hard to break even on a game with a budget like Mass Effect's without selling DLC like this. The existence of DLC enables the main game to get made in the first place; if you're not interested in the DLC, you reap the rewards of the higher budget main game without paying an extra dime for the DLC.

Basically, it lets them sell the game at a higher price point... to some people, while still providing a more or less complete experience to the rest.

@buzski - Considering the third game is going to be out this year, I don't think they're going to do a GOTY edition. If they were, they probably would've done so in January when they launched the PS3 version.

Besides, you can pick it & all the DLC up on either of the original platforms for well under $60 now.

You waited a couple of months, check online for a cheaper price buy it and then get the DLC and it'll still be a 60dollar game. For the most part the PS3 version IS the GOTY version and IF they release on for the other platforms it'll be around the SAME TIME as ME3 and that's only a random IF.

It's pretty clear you haven't played the game. Out of the box it was completely a finished product. You could enjoy the game as a whole, with a well polished story including conclusion. It was GotY worthy as a stand alone product, and in no way crippled or incomplete as released (aside from bugs, obviously).

The DLC have been very similar to a traditional old school boxed expansion, just broken up. I don't recall people whining about Brood Wars and the like. I get DLC I'm interested in, for games I'm interested in and don't have to pay $40 for an expansion with stuff I don't really care about.

I get the complaints when real portions of the game are missing or held out to force a purchase, like a super short campaign, or an incomplet ending, or a missing game mode, or when there's a balance issue in multiplayer. But to complain about a legitimate, high production value, complete game, with legitimate, high value DLC that expands the experience for devoted fans...

Not to mention, a new copy of the game plus the DLC is gonna be about the se price as a GotY edition anyway... Heck if you hit up sales over the last few months you could have gotten all of it for LESS than $60.

The Arrival had better 'arrive' with a patch to fix the damned Insanity Trophy glitch... What a pain in the ass it was to play the entire game on Insanity and NOT have the trophy pop up. The salt on the wounds is that it is the ONLY trophy left for my platinum...

The good news is that Bioware is aware of the glitch... The bad news is that they've been slow as hell in fixing it.

Couldn't you just have a save right before the last boss and just beat him again to try to trigger the trophy? He wasn't too terribly hard on Insanity.

Nope, I've tried and it didn't work. The problem relates to gamers that set the difficulty to Insanity at the main menu before starting the game, rather than when the gamer is prompted to do so after the prologue.

In theory it should not matter when the difficulty is set, as both qualify towards Insanity as long as the gamer doesn't subsequently change the difficulty throughout the campaign.

In reality, setting the difficulty from the main menu will result in the Insanity trophy glitch- it will not unlock after beating the game.

I have replayed the final boss, and still it will not unlock...

Oh ok. That would be pretty annoying...It would be a lot easier if there was some sort of progress bar for the trophies and it would say if you could or couldn't get that trophy and how far you are on the rest of them.
