MotorStorm Apocalypse gets March 31 release date in UK
25
One week after Sony made the decision to postpone the launch and remove marketing materials for MotorStorm Apocalypse, Sony Europe has confirmed to VG247 that the racer will arrive in the UK on March 31. The title had already begun shipping to retail locations in the UK when Sony decided to delay it, due to the parallels between its earthquake-centric gameplay and the earthquake and tsunami which devastated Japan earlier this month.
There's no word on when the title will reach North America, after being delayed indefinitely from its rescheduled April 12 launch date. We've contacted Sony to see if a decision has been made on the game's U.S. release.

Wow what a joke! After all the the bullshit about respect for Japan blah, blah, blah we are delaying the game , blah, blah and now it is getting a release date which was only a 2 week delay!
What the hell was the point in delaying it two weeks???
Has Japan fully recovered from the earthquake so soon?
Was this just a marketing trick from Sony to boost sales of the game?
Lets show the world how much we care about Japan and maybe we will get more sales from the game because we look like good guys!!!!!
WTF?

@stevestone No. There are alot of people who will never fully recover from it.
It was delayed because it would have been insensitive to release it AT the time it all happened.

NO, it is pointless because waiting only two weeks seems like less respect than waiting months or even next year sometime!
You tell me how this short wait shows respect. When I said "has Japan fully recovered from the earthquake so soon" I was being sarcastic you idiot!

What is happing in Japan is a horrible tragedy but I don't think it should have been delayed. It's just a racing game, there are way more important things to worry about. I think delaying it for a very short period of time is more insulting than not delaying it at all.

not exaclty sure why my post got downvoted.
You people do realize Japan is not only NOT out of a terrible situation, but there is a very real chance that they can face an even bigger catastrophe in the form of a meltdown.
The cities and villages can be rebuilt after a the tsunami.
The cities and villages can't be built after a meltdown.

Not sure what all this fuss is about :/ There was an earthquake, dunno if it directly effected Sony's headquarters or not, but regardless, it was insensitive to release the game at the moment of the earthquake. So they release it 2 weeks later. Big deal.
You guys sure do make a shitfuss over everything, you were the same people moaning about it being delayed ¬_¬

Sony come on a 2 week delay makes it looks like you went for free advertising mentioning the game during that time.

Not sure why you were downvoted. I swear the Joystiq community is a blind Sony cult.

Same here. I own over 50 retail based disc games for PS3, and about 40 PSN games...yet I get downvoted every time I say Sony is treating situations in bad form (like this delay, or invading the privacy of people who supported GeoHotz, or whenever I say homebrew has benefits).

But they didn't mention the game, they just delayed it :/ So how is that marketing? The only people marketing it were the people moaning about it being delayed.

this topic as been beat to death.
all I have to say now is, if it's released in april in north america I'll buy it.
If it's released any later I might push it aside for other games.

Glad to see it finnally being released. But am I the only one that played the demo and actually hated it? MotorStorm 1 had better graphics I swear!!

Oh thank heavens. Now the world can finally forget about Japan!
Like I've said before. Delaying this, and releasing it again so shortly is disrespectful and insulting. Looks like a PR stunt by Sony to increase sales by releasing the game that was linked (by their own doing) to the tsunami, while making them look respectful for delaying it.

I'm in that boat. Why delay a game for 2 weeks, when you previously stated that this delay was out of respect? There's nothing respectful about the delay, just seems like free publicity for Sony to look good, while releasing a "controversial" game that nobody would have cared about had it released on it's original date.

What I don't understand is why we get this announcement like days after the North America version gets delayed 'indefinitely'. They really aren't helping themselves with all this back and forth business.
