That sounds disappointing. I was going to wait on this DLC anyway. My ME1 save didn't import into ME2, so I'm planning on picking up ME1 and getting that working before I do another ME2 run with my choices in place so that I'm ready for ME3. Hopefully by the time I'm in the middle of all that this will have gone on sale.

@louiedog Actually, I had the same problem. I solved it by going into ME1, and beating it again (mind you, not playing through it again, just beating it again). Once that happened, it allowed me to import the ME1 Save Game.

I waited for sales on all the other ME2 DLC, but I bought this today -- specifically because it's the final DLC mission.

I played through ME2 once and loved it. As more and more DLC came out, I decided to wait until all the DLC was out so I could play through a second time with everything before ME3 is released. And frankly, I want to finish the "complete" ME2 as far in advance of ME3 as possible.

Bummer. Just finished ME2 a couple months back and still haven't done any of the DLC. I was looking forward to this, but I think it's probably a smarter move to pick up 'Shadow Broker' and 'Overlord' and wait for this one to go on sale.

Kasumi's DLC is worth it just for the SMG you get and for her little running rumormill on the ship.

She always has something neat to ramble at you about.

It was short but that would have been fine if it developed the experience of ME2 somewhat, like the new situations Lair of The Shadow Broker put Shepard in, like crime investigation, fancy party, urban car chase (man that was good). But really there's nothing that puts a new spin on things. It's good because Mass Effect is good, but this is not a very engaging version of it.

The thing to do with a dlc that won't sell to all of the original audience, when you have a low budget, would perhaps be to concentrate on character development. The one new character that's introduced isn't very interesting, and the situation doesn't bring anything else out of Shepard. Harkin has a few good lines.

I can't not buy this. I just can't. Mass Effect owns my soul. Literally the only content they released that I haven't devoured is those silly weapon packs.

[Elcor voice] Shamefully, I have purchased the weapon packs. Reluctantly continuing, and the outfit packs. Under our breath, if there were a hanar-themed underwear pack, I would doubtless pay for it.

I bought this once I woke up this morning. This review is disheartening, but I would have bought it anyways. I had spare points that I wasn't planning on using on anything in the near future, and I could never turn down the allure of Mass Effect DLC (besides those stupid costume and weapon packs) regardless of what I hear about it.

Completed it earlier, it's nothing amazing. Can't see the conclusion following up in ME3, and you don't make a substantial choice at the end (where I think there was an opportunity missed) which surprised me a bit.

To be fair, anything is hard to top Shadow Broker, easily the best.

@Emmenthal So, besides story, do you get anything from this? Like Shadow Broker gives that base with a bunch of nice additions for completing it and I think one of the others had an upgrade thing.

Nope, story is the only thing the DLC gives you. Well, that and 3 achievements.

Nothing grand, although I think you can play this after Horizon in game. But there are 3 upgrades you can obtain, and 3 new achievements. One that can be easily missed if you don't pursue it fully.

One point I did like about it, was the opportunity to do things differently. You had a choice how to go about the mission, which I liked and was a fresh change. Pending how you approached it governed if you got one of the achievements also.

I just bought this (and Costume Quest for cheap!) about 5 minutes before reading this review. Harsh review, but I think you are just coming down on it so hard because, as mentioned, all of the DLC has been rock solid and this is the final chapter before ME3. We were all expecting something big.

I'm sure I'll be able to get some enjoyment out of it as I love this series and am really excited to see how this mission ends, but I would have waited for this to go on sale had I known it would ultimately be a disappointing conclusion.

Huh, I actually thought it was as good as LOTSB. IMHO it was the first DLC that really put you on the bleeding edge. There is choices, they are not immediate effects however.
*Spoilers Ahead*

They will effect you when Shepard gets put to trial in ME3.

*Spoiler End*

But whatever, thats just my two cents.

Grammar Nazi fail. He said "[There] aren't immediate effects."

Effect is a noun. Affect is a verb. He used it correctly.

I will still get it in case anything that happens has any actual relevance to ME3. I assume this was a quick thing to get put out before ME3 opposed to something long in planning.

Bought and finished this afternoon.

Pretty much in agreement. It's... ME2. Only without your guys. It adds nothing new, doesn't go too in depth, and just sends you on a solo killing spree against pretty uninteresting enemies that you've already seen in the vanilla game. There isn't even a boss fight (well, there sort of is but it's rubbish).

That said, I did enjoy the story and it does feel like a bridge between games. Not as awesome and mindblowing a bridge as I'd have liked after LotSB last year but a bridge nonetheless.

Bought it and finished it. It's not bad, but short. While it's not exceptional, it does have a pivotal plot point for Mass Effect 3. But as stated it the review, its worth waiting if you can get it cheaper before 3 arrives. (Get it!?)

Unfortunately, we were all spoiled by the Shadow Broker DLC. That's a prime example of how a DLC should be, (which was excellent, btw) and we had our hopes raised up high only to face disappointment with Arrival.
