Aside from giving Lara a fresh pair of pants (and a full-on reboot), Crystal Dynamics has something else in the works, it appears. According to Gamasutra, Scott Amos, executive producer at Dead Space creator Visceral Games, has joined on with the developer to lead a new team tasked with developing this new IP.
Prior to his work with Visceral, Amos also handled The Sims franchise at EA Maxis, developing the series for consoles. Amos will be relocating to Crystal Dynamics' Redwood-based studio, but we've heard he's got to make it all the way through The Angel of Darkness before he can start work. That's something we wouldn't wish on anyone.

I am sick of Lara Croft. I hope the new IP isn't another sequel Lara nor a another reboot

The new TR reboot looks pretty cool.
Anyway Crystal Dynamics does Legacy of Kain / Soul Reaver right?
That needs a new game.

@SADONE07 don't make me downvote you for trying to bring some kind of hope to a dying (dead) franchise

I don't think you know what the definition of a new IP is...

Ok, hold on... 1.You can down vote me... it's not the end of the world it's just a video game blog.
2. Yes, the legacy of Kain series is dead. It's dead because they did what other games should do, WRAP UP THE STORY!!!. I bet you're the type that would love Call of Duty Infinity. I would love to see an reboot of the original Blood Omen, in HD with better graphics, art, design, I have reason to believe from the way you're reacting to my original post... I don't think you've ever played Blood Omen 1. If that's the case sir, I need you to log on to the playstation network do a search. Search "Blood Omen" purchase it put your mind and visual tastes back to PS1 (so you won't complain about the graphics) and get ready for a serious ride. That game is EPIC. It's as EPIC as a Lord of the Rings book. It's really deep story wise, and full of cool innovative game play that you don't see in a lot of games today. Gaming today is getting disgustingly repetitive like mainstream Hollywood and it's starting to become a serious problem...i.e. Dante's Inferno+Darksiders+Castlevania =God of War, Call of Duty series= Black Ooops, uhh, I mean Ops. Rift+Star Trek Online+Lord of the Rigs= WOW and Nintendo got desperate and just remade a couple of their wild card successes like Kirby and Donkey Kong. The fact of the matter is that the Kain series is unique, epic, great story telling and at least worth a revisit on the current generation of consoles. I also understand what a new IP is, and please don't get me wrong I'm excited to find out what it is, hell, I'm one of few who actually enjoyed what Silicon Knights/CD was trying to do with Too Human. Who else bypassed Enslaved, Vanquish, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, Nier, Resonance of Fate??? Not This Guy!!! I was just making the point that it would be nice to see a Blood Omen remake.

@SADONE07 Actually I wasn't being serious and you're right I agree 100%. What my comment meant was you and I (as well as a whole bunch of others) are hoping for a new Legacy of Kain and the company decides otherwise. Really I was being pessimistic instead of the opposite. Hope it makes sense? If not, then I tried.

Dear Crystal D,
I'm glad you're doing good with your Laras and your new properties.
But! Please do something more in the Legacy of Kain series.
Preferably before Michael Bell dies and we can't have Kain and his talking arm, Raziel.
You could have funny Liquid/Ocelot-type shenanigans.
Sequel, prequel, midquel?, reboot, remake, beggars can't be choosers. But we sure can beg.
