The Rock talks Doom again, would do another game movie (like Black Ops)
43
After watching The Rock, who is also named Dwayne Johnson, fulfill his hosting duties during last night's Wrestlemania event by totally slamming dudes in the face, we were all probably possessed by the same thought: When's Doom 2 coming out?
Speaking to MTV, Mr. Rock explained he's not averse to doing another game-based movie "if the right one came along." "I thought we had an opportunity with Doom," he added. "Didn't work out the way we wanted it to, creatively." Let's look on the bright side: Spy Hunter didn't work out the way you wanted it to completely and entirely.
When asked what game he'd like to film-ify, in a perfect world, Mr. Rock replied, "Black Ops -- that'd be bad ass. Let's make it happen. Let's do it." He added, "That and Black Swan 2." Wait, wait -- what if we combined the two? Oh, man. Do you smell what The Rock is cooking? Cinematic gold.

*Pictures the rock in the Black Ops Swan 2*
*he ballet dances across the stage feeling himself under pressure to get this performance just right. He envisions his arms turning into swan wings then suddenly he rushes up to fellow dancer raising them in the air while spinning around then gives them the rock bottom to the crowds applause*
It just might work.....

Just don't do another tooth fairy. For the love of anything and everything.

I don't care what they say about you Rock, I'll always love you. They just don't understand. Really though, he's actually like , a pretty good actor, he just seems to consistently get terrible scripts. What actor among us could have made "I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO DIE" not ridiculous?

He was pretty good in "Gridiron Gang". Would have been cool to see him in more roles like that.

I actually enjoyed Doom. People always have too high of standards for movies. Everyone's a critic & if every movie isn't the same, it sucks :/

You guys can smell what hes cooking all you want,to me he falls into that category of actors i just cant take seriously like Vin Diesel.
I think he needs to get some roles where he plays characters that arent bad asses to be able to break type casting and that stale action hero thing he has hanging around.Im very forgiving of actors that i find boring and stereotypical when they at least do one thing i can look favorably on but so far that just hasnt been the case for Mr Johnson.

You know Rock you sound all eager to do a video game movie but next time choose carefully. If Uwe Boll was to hear your excitement he might get his mitts on you. He'll promise you any kind of game movie you can be in. Just expect the final outcome of it to be poo

Well they certainly couldn't make a Black Ops movie any worse, so might as well put him in it.

I actually enjoyed Doom. But I actually think that they're already doing like a "reboot" of the franchise, so that kinda puts an end to any Doom 2 thoughts.

Black Ops would not make a good movie, simply because, pardon my rant here.
HALO, Mass Effect, World of WarCraft, have all been mentioned as works in progress and are all being placed on back-burners or "things to do" Post It's on some directors refrigerator.
With that said, Black Ops would never see the light of day anytime soon, so i refuse to even entertain the thought.

I just wish someone would do a Doom movie that followed the books. They were great books and really gave the feel for the first two games.

I like Dwayne Johnson, he's a solid actor.
The Scorpion King, Get Smart, Gridiron Gang, Faster, The Rundown, The Other Guys, Be Cool...they were all good flicks.
Personally didn't see Doom, not because I was worried about quality, but because my laziness often prevents me from getting up to do things, like buy movies.
I'd happily welcome another video game movie starring "The Rock," and in all honesty, a Call of Duty film would be kick ass.
