World of Goo coming soon to iPhone, will be .99 for first day

Say you want to experience World of Goo with a multitouch interface, but you don't want to go wait in line at the Apple Store for an iPad. Is there a solution for your Goo problem? Not yet, but there's about to be -- well, provided you already have an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4.

2D Boy has submitted an iPhone version of World of Goo to Apple for approval, meaning it'll be available any day now. The regular price will be a dangerously impulse-buy-friendly 2.99 -- but it'll be just 99 cents for the first 24 hours.

And if you already have that iPad version, you already have the iPhone version, in a way. 2D Boy is making the iPad app universal, so it'll be freely playable on iPhone. If you have an iOS device, it's basically a foregone conclusion that you're about to own World of Goo.

I am going to buy it just so I can play it on my iPhone 5 later. I am still using this old busted 3G, I hate that it can't run any new apps anymore. This game is so much fun on the PC and well worth 99 cents. I spent more money on a drink this morning!

Guys...I think there's something wrong with me. I already own this game on Steam, got it again as part of the Humble Indie Bundle, and now I want to buy it AGAIN just because it's 99 cents :-/

It'll be the 3rd time I've bought this game. Yet to complete it, but it's always nice fun to play. Bought it for a penny when they had that sale some years ago, then for a penny with that Humble Bundle thing and that was nice enough to be tied to Steam.
So this will be the most I've paid for it!

Hmm, I think your outrage missed out on my previous post.
Once a year I donate £1000 to 4 charities, Childs Play get £250 a year from me.
I sent over the keys for my Tokyo apartment to a family who were displaced by the earthquake. I do my bit, I'll have you know.

You know, if you donate less than a set amount through PayPal they don't even see the cash due to PayPal's fees. So no, you didn't give them anything. You might as well have pirated the game, because you did pretty much the same thing.

There is no iPhone-only any more. There's basically iPad and iPhone+iPod Touch. So yes. you're good to get it!

Just failed to talk my girlfriend out of getting an iPhone yesterday, so it looks like I'll be getting this for her when it hits.

I just destroyed the iPad version of it this weekend and as soon as I saw the title of this post I was instantly waving goodbye to my .99 cents, then upon reading further I saw that is going to be universal!? How kind of them- this game is EASILY worth the extra buck to have it on my iPhone as well! I have to say, you gotta love universal apps.

And on a side note people like @VeeDeeVee and @Carl1412 make me a little perturbed- a penny? really? you couldn't part with even a buck? a penny is a slap in the face to not only the developers trying to do a good thing but also to the kids, that the money eventually goes to. Those 'pay what you want' things need to have a minimal cost of entry if you ask me- so at least its worth the time and effort to do it and to even keep the idea of that kind of payment system alive.

I own it everywhere, including WiiWare, but I'm tempted to buy it again in case I ever break down and get an iPhone, although not likely. My disgust for Apple is pretty strong. But the iPhone is a nice piece of gear.

Interesting. I bought the ipad version when it was $.99 even though I don't own an Ipad, I figure I will someday, so might as well splurge on the game while it's cheap. So I'll be able to play the version I already bought on my ipod touch? Cool.
