I know that feeling!!! Also have just about all Bioware's games and most that have used Bioware's engines over the years too!!!

@joshbw
It is starting to look that way, I guess we are going to have to look elsewhere for quality games if ME3 is as rushed as DA2 was, as DA2 is still more or less unplayable for many a month after release!

That's a sweet deal! Too bad I already own both. I assume they are hoping to sell dlc with these antics. The DLC for ME2 is probably more than the cost of the game now. That and they want to keep up the anticipation for ME3.

Or it could be an apology for the mess that DA2 is :P Just sayin

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy DAII but it was a major departure from what the first game was, and a fair amount of fans were none too happy about it. I personally don't mind games getting "consolified". There's a reason consoles are number 1.

I still hope that there are more hardcore games that come out but DA:O was for the most part a little tedious at times.

I can understand pumping out Mass Effect 2 stuff, because people loved it, reviewers loved it, it wasn't for me, but I can understand why people loved it.

But... Why are they reminding us that Dragon Age 2 exists? That same dungeon that I had to run through 63 times still haunts my dreams.

Eh, I would consider this if I could nab the PS3 versions of both. Considering I have a Mac, the PC version of Mass Effect 2 is basically useless to me. :(

@ghall I agree with Caliber. Boot camp is the way to go. Although I have a PS3 I do most of my gaming on my Mac through boot camp. Even if a game is offered in both Mac and PC versions (such as Star Craft 2) it'll still run 10x better in boot camp due to better graphics drivers and such (can run SC2 on high/ultra booted into Windows but only on medium when on Mac side).

More on topic this would be awesome deal if I didn't already have ME2 and DA2. I'd rather have free DLC or a t-shirt or something.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but why own a mac if you just emulate windows all the time for gaming? I'm genuinely curious. I thought the main advantage most get from a Mac is the streamlined and secure os.

Not to start any flame wars but Windows 7 is pretty solid for me so far and pc parts/builds tend to be significantly cheaper than their mac counterparts. I really don't know too much about macs though and I might be misinformed so feel free to correct if I have something wrong.

I'd say the quick & easy answer to your question (why own a Mac if you emulating windows for gaming purposes) would be:
1) you prefer the OS functionality over Windows & are not the type to buy your computers solely for the purposes of gaming (something many people can't quite understand around here).
2) The game(s) you want to play is Windows only.

@swooded Considering the specs of a Mac and how much you pay, there really is no reason to buy one other than for stylistic purposes. I'm pretty certain the OS they use can be installed to any pc as well so if that's the only reason you're buying one you might want to reconsider. I've never understood people who buy Macs, but then I'm someone who likes saving money.

If by secure you mean their are a significantly lower number of users thus less idiots who are stupid enough to get themselves infected with viruses and such. Then yes it is more secure.

Otherwise, no it isn't.

Nope. The myth of the Mac being more secure because of the "lower amount of users" has been disproven for years, as well. There still isn't one self-replicating Mac-OSX attacking *VIRUS* in the wild.

About Mac users being smart enough not to infect themselves, well that's something I won't dispute. Thanks :)

I was referring more to desktops, but the myth still applies somewhat to laptops: When you factor in other things *besides* simply a processor, the price difference becomes less than most Windows users would have you believe: Quality of the display, graphics card, audio capabilities, more stable OS and included software (some people care about that). I've had dozens of coworkers claim that no sub-$900 PC laptop can come close to the performance of a base level Mac Laptop.

Do a search for "The Apple Mac Cost Misconception" - that will explain it better than I can.

So, to answer your question: No, I'm not joking.

Or how about the Terminus Weapon and Armor Pack that has the Black Hole Gun you could only get on 360/pC from pre-ordering ME2 through GameStop? God I want that Back Hole Gun.

Plus they already made the Incisor Sniper Rifle(from pre-ordering ME2 on Steam, or maybe buying the Steam Digital Deluxe version) available in a DLC pack, and the Inferno Armor(from pre-ordering anywhere other than GameStop) so why not the GameStop gun+armor? It's not like GameStop is really losing any sales from not pre-ordering ME2 from them 15 months after release. And did I mention I want that Black Hole Gun?

And I have ME2 CE, the armor is worthless(typical face-covering armor that means you never use it anywhere you might talk to people, which is everywhere), and the gun is weak(you get guns in the game that are superior, plus the Mattock AR from the Firepower Pack). But for completion's sake, I get you, since I hear the Terminus Armor is also useless and the Black Hole Gun isn't as good as the Cain.

@jblank If you have the game and an EA account, they send you an email that takes you to a download page. It asks you to input use the code for The Black Emporium that you got with the game, and it generates a download code. Then you use EA's download manager to input that game code and download.

It sounds a lot more complicated than it actually is.

Goshdarnit. Of course, the one time I accidentally trade in the game with the gamecode in it, they give out something free. I have all the flyers/gamecode sheets for all the other games I've traded in, except for this one. Story of my life....

"We're sorry to hear that so many people are so let down by the dumbing down of Dragon Age 2, so have a free, better (but still dumbed down) sequel to another game! Sorry again."

Note that I've only played the demo, but I was extremely ready for Dragon Age 2, but the demo felt like a clunky hack-and-slash RPG.. which is funny; Origins was supposed to be the big 'return to the classics' style of RPG. I'll wait until the price hits $30 or so before I pick up DA2.

It's okay, Mouse+Keyboard doesn't bite, and is in fact just as intuitive as the 360 controller. The spacebar emphasis is a change from ME1, but that only affects ME1 PCers going to ME2. It's quite fun on PC, even without a controller. Mouse gives better accuracy than a joystick anyways. :P

@RogueJedi86 yeah i suppose that stretching my arm in order to place my fingers on "wasd" wouldn't be so bad if it wouldn't cramp. My thumb on the spacebar and my other hand on the mouse, given the good accuracy, definitely puts a strain on my hand and is very uncomfortable.
I would take a controller over a mouse/keyboard any day. tried playing MW2 with mouse/keyboard as well as Mass Effect 1 but i cant do it.
