Yakuza: Of the End out in Japan June 9, sales support Red Cross

A victim of really unfortunate timing, Sega's Yakuza: Of the End was to be released in Japan on March 17 -- a week after the Tohoku earthquake. Sega delayed it right after the earthquake, with no definite release date.

Sega just announced the new date for the PS3 Yakuza spinoff, which has Kazuma Kiryu and other tough guys shooting up zombies in a wrecked Kamurocho. It'll be out in Japan on June 9. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the game will go to the Red Cross, and a "Let's Go, Japan" sticker will be bundled with the game.

Sega has yet to make any announcements regarding a Western release.

This one is a PSP game, I believe. I'm hoping it does get released stateside. All four of the main games were released here, after all.

@Exhau nope. This one is PS3, the PSP one is black panther, and has already been released.

This is great news! Hope we get a localized version early next year!

Delay is probably for the best, since early reports say that it is shittay. Maybe they can bury it in the next financial quarter.

Nice. Hopefully Sega will announce western release date soon. Yakuza 4 was very good.

I wish more Red Cross volunteers carried mini-chain guns.

If anyone here is remotely involved in Sega in any way, tell them this: Yakuza is my favorite Sega franchise ever. I've bought every game at launch. I'd buy this game in a heartbeat. If its proceeds go into helping Japan, even moreso.
