I want to try this, but at the same time I don't want to wait for the 3+ hours it will take to download.

I'm torn.

@OneManFreakShow If you like diablo and want a lot of customization, then get it, believe me, it's the only real nice game on diablo style that I had played so far on the last 2 years (besides Torchlight)

Already pre-ordered mine on Steam... can't wait!

I had never even been interested until Joystiq made a Waterworld reference. :o Now I'm mildly curious.

I didn't expect much from this but downloaded it a while back when there was a steam beta and was pretty damn impressed. Its pretty different from your average a-rpg in some ways but very familar in others. I went from meh to almost definitely going to buy.

I think this might be one of the things where the inverse of peoples expectations is how you'll actually feel about it.

I thought hey diablo where you can switch classes and characters on the fly with tons of loot that actually changes how you look. Sign me up.

But, then I played it and I don't know just felt slow and generic to me when I played the demo. I might try it again, but as of right now not a must buy for me.

final scum shield: I realize I didn't qualify why I didn't like it that much. I'm not a game review I honestly don't know why I didn't like it. Just didn't hold my attention and seeing as everyone else gave it praise would merely say it isn't better than sliced bread /rant.

I got to play this when they had a beta in steam. I really enjoyed it as it felt similar to Diablo, and i've been searching for some Action RPGs.

Definite a must buy for me. As nightlynews said however, it was a bit slower, but I don't mind that.

I would have wanted a better expansion to Spore than Galactic Adventures, but sure, Spore RTS, that's great.

I did the most recent beta. I'm a big Diablo/Torchlight fan so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed.

It really just needs to be twice as fast. The characters and the attacks are interesting in themselves, its just all too slow.

Enemy numbers are way too low too. I can't really say I ever felt pressured to survive. If they speed up the game and speed up attacks, they can bump up enemy count a bit.

I can't say I was massively impressed by the original Spore, but this game does sound like it could be exactly what the doctor ordered. Kind of like Pokémon, but with customisation, and without the mind-numbing turn-based combat.

I've checked out a few videos of the game, and tbh it looks pretty slow and clunky at the moment. Obviously, I haven't played the it, so I could be entirely off the mark with that comment, and I hope I'm proved wrong. Unfortunately, my laptop does not have the credentials to run Darkspore, so hopefully it'll be released on XBOX at some point!

I liked it, for a while. But the mission system is counterintuitive and weird. You'd beat a level and then it would automatically throw you into the next level with the same team, even if that team now consisted of heroes ill-suited to fight the enemies on that new level. I would literally sit there and tell you that your team was screwed, but give you no way to actually do anything about it.

The only way I could find to switch around your team was to then "abort" the mission, change around your team and then restart the mission. But then, inexplicably, I would have to redo a level over again that I'd already beaten.

Not only that, but at least once this seemed to break my "kill chain" or whatever it's called, meaning I wouldn't get a special reward for beating several levels in a row without failure. No explanation regarding any of it. That killed my fun real quick.

its all about the co-op play. this game is a blast with 3-4 players, crank up the difficulty! plus once you get abit further in the game and unlock all 3 aoe abilities... so much fun and i can see how the pvp will be interesting and unique too. balanced? hell no! but still fun
