I'd hope it had able voice actors & the ability to climb downward (instead of having to drop)

Darknet. Sounds more like...

"We played it in the office and enjoyed it but we didn't bother with usability or gameplay testing, so instead we're releasing the game on a distribution service friendly to frequent game updates and asking you to pay for the privilege of playing the game AND act as our testers AND not be credited for it"

... to me.

Yeah, but they've already made efforts to improve it for free, and this is better than companies who don't listen, put out shit games and then never patch them.

True. But the absolute best thing would have been to do this before launch. Free updates only last whilst the game is making money, so beyond Valve I don't really trust other devs to update their broke games so much.

Exactly my thoughts. I doubt the PSN Store will even be updated today.

So they sold everyone a beta copy on XBLA last year for $15? Good to know.

Pass!

@KungFuChaosNinja

I don't think they sold many of their "beta" copies at the $15 price point. I know I got my copy for $5 during a sale. Haven't played it yet tho

So this will be the Pure version with extra enhancements, like an actual ending instead of just cutting off?

and the update for people that bought the xbox version is where?!! we deserve an ending too! or are we going to get shafted on the update like what happened with Alone in the Dark and UT3?

Can anyone who played "Pure" give a reasonable feedback? I downloaded the regular version when it came out and was not impressed. Since anyone is gonna review a patched game, it is quite hard to find out whether it's worth wasting my time over the patched trial or not...

@TheShaper The Pure update made the game a bit more playable in terms of combat and platforming, but it dumbed down the sections in which you have to pull out your decryption device to the point where you don't even have to think, you just point it at wherever the way-point is, making the game seem a lot shorter than I think they intended. The game is a pretty bland third-person shooter/platformer, and the environmental destruction aspect didn't add much. The game has the single-most abrupt ending I've ever seen in a video game, much less any other medium other than The Sopranos. There's a challenge room, which adds a sort of Force power that only works on water (which is less cool than it sounds) which seems more like a preview of the sequel. The premise of the story is somewhat interesting, but there's no pay-off to make it seem worthwhile. The voice acting is awful and the writing doesn't help. I spent 400 MS points on this game whenever it went on sale last winter, finished it in about a day, and immediately deleted it from my hard-drive afterward. I regret spending any money and time on this game. I really, really wanted to like this game, and I do think there's a cool concept or two they can flesh out a little more to make more interesting, it just didn't work for me.

I know remakes are the "in" thing now, but you really ought to be putting out new titles instead of remaking your first game ad nauseum. You know, I'm just saying.

On a completely unrelated note. I was scrolling past the stories and thought it was Beyond Good and Evil related just because of the screenshot. Needless to say, I was wrong...very wrong.
