"We have extensive DLC available from the first day"

"DLC available from the first day"

"DLC... First day"

No. Day 1 DLC is never good. You already paid $60 to get the game. Why should gamers already be asked for more money?

@Hatman88 Did you miss the part where it said the game will retail for $40? That said, this seems suspiciously like a ploy to make a player feel justified in buying the DLC since the game itself was "only" $40 to start.

I can just imagine their pitch for a reason to buy the day 1 release DLC.

"When you purchase this download content for the game, deep down its going to feel like your paying nothing at all....

Nothing at all

Nothing at all"

Stupid sexy flanders

@Stevetrop Man of Mystery

Why are you not up-voted to the sky yet, good sir?

Any and all Simpsons quotes used in a generally relevant context are extremely appreciated by me and surely the other fans of The Simpsons.

I'm going to click this plus button until your text box is a grayish-blue.

Strange. I could've sworn I read the whole thing. While I take back the $60 part, I still stand by stance against Day 1 DLC. Why make them pay more already?

I thought this was going to be a budget title, $40 isn't exactly budget priced.

I think this model suit these kinds of games rather well, but whether or not it'll work will be up to the pricing.

~€35 sounds a bit steep for a game that you know you'll buy a lot of DLC for, so the DLC better be cheap (€1-€5)

Do they think people are this stupid? If it comes down to buying a full game for $50, or buying half a game for $40 and the other half over 5 $5 installments, people will catch on.

This is blatantly not DLC akin to an expansion pack, but rather a marketing ploy to rip people off... it's like 10 or 15 years ago when publishers realized they could release half finished games and patch them over a few months. We'll have to suffer through ridiculously greedy suits assuming all gamers are idiots before the market corrects itself.

Oh no, they don't think people are this stupid. They KNOW people are this stupid. Hell, we have people ASKING to pay $100 to get all the pre-order bonuses in Brink. Bonuses that were made months before the game's release. Really, some people will pay for any DLC, no matter how horrible.

He says it like he's proud of it. Sorry, did I miss the PSA when day-one DLC became a good thing?

The model can work, sure. I just don't think this game is going to be good enough to make people want to buy any DLC for it. The trailers have been pretty awful and really, $40 is not budget priced, especially when the current market is trending towards massive discounts on AAA titles 1 or 2 weeks after release. People are paying under $40 for Portal 2 right now for Christ's sake...

And, there's still no ATV game out better than Pure.
