Activision has rolled out some new screens for Transformers: Dark of the Moon, as well as box art for all platforms. It looks like the DS version is getting the Pokemon treatment, as it will come in both Autobot and Decepticon flavors; meanwhile, the 3DS and Wii versions have gained the subtitle Stealth Force Edition. The box art for both also includes an icon that reads "Vehicle Combat Game," implying that the 3DS and Wii versions may have significantly different gameplay. Check out the screens and box art in the gallery bellow.

Something tells me that none of those screens are from the handheld versions.

Actually, the handheld versions tend to be better, at leas the DS ones (PSP tends to get console ports). Look at Sega's travesties with the past Marvel movie games. Iron Man, Hulk, just recently Thor, etc. are all mediocre on the consoles, but the DS versions are actually above average to great, and can be a lot of fun due to the gameplay changes.
I remember the other DS Transformers movie games being pretty good too, though if the 3DS and Wii versions will be similar, its hard to say the 3DS version will be good.

Great improvement over the other movie games. However, this game is more of a rental rather then $60 worth.
Or we can just wait two weeks after the release date for the price to drop down $20. Since Amazon seems to be having a party with the past few release date games.

i grew up with transforming mechas from the 80s (Transformers, Voltron, Robotech, Gobots lol). is the new Transformers any good? Bay+LaBeouf seems like it'd spell "bastardized."

If you have never seen the new Transformers movies, this sums it up.
1. More humans than Transformers. Expect to see lots of twisted metal in fights where you can't identify who's on-screen. Bumblebee doesn't talk due to "damage". forget what you know about the Allspark and Transformers origin, it's all changed here. "Nerdy guy getting hot chick" storyline incredibly predictible.
For 2, it's better, and there is more Transformers screen time, but ignore the twins, they are the single-most annoying part of the movie. They seemed at least to care at least a little bit more about slapping old names on completely unrelated Transformers, so you see Jetfire and he's, GASP, an actual jet who's a former Decepticon.
And nothing, NOTHING will prepare you for Optimus Prime's lips. Seriously, they relegated his mouthplate to a faceplate shield, and he talks with lips the rest of the time.

@Howard Roark The Bouf isn't so bad. Yeah the plot of him getting with a hot chick while acting like a total spaz is predictable and stupid, but I don't mind him in the role.
Oh, and if you watch the second one be prepared for an extreme excess of spinny cam. Seriously, I think that 75% of the movie involved the camera spinning around different people.

IMHO, Transformers 2 is one of the worst summer blockbusters ever made. The writing of both movies is crap and its very hard to tell the robots apart.
Plus, the Autobots come across the as the villains since their goal in both movies is to basically doom their species to extinction.

I should pick up War for Cybertron..anyone recommend it?

@rambo8 War for Cybertron is easily the best transformers game made, which undersells it quite a bit. The game's got a pretty solid online mode, and the single player's not bad either. I would definitely recommend it, especially for the 25 bucks they're asking for on amazon.

@rambo8 It's a great game. Nonstop action, great graphics, good story. Must have for Transformer fans. My only complaint is the color palette tend to be either purple or gray. It's nice to see in this new game that they've liven up the colors!

Hopefuly as good or better than WFC... If they do MP again, hopefully it won't be a lagfest (it's the only MP I've ever played long enough to "prestige" (thanks to XP event to cut the time down so I could platinum it)

hahahaha. Sorry, but you're exactly what Activision is banking on. 60 dollars spent on a game that took 6 months to make.

Yeah, they're usually a lot better, but the graphics aren't really a great marketing tool.

As a lifelong fan of the original cartoon, I think I will continue to pass on the Bayformer games. Show me some screens from War for Cybertron 2 and then we'll talk.

Now I'll have to decide wether to get the 3DS or DS(Autobot) version!
Decisions, decisions...
