Stop reading this right now, and put on a hat. Seriously. Grab the nearest bike helmet, fedora or beret, and slap it on your noggin. See, the latest CTA Digital product is going to make your brain explode, and clean-up is going to be way easier if you enclose your domepiece beforehand. Ready? It is a steering wheel peripheral for Kinect, designed for people with a penchant for driving games and, like, zero imagination.
Best of all, the $13 apparatus is totally translucent, meaning it won't obstruct your view of all the virtual driving you'll be doing. And maybe, just maybe, if you're very lucky, its transparentness will make it easier to hide the fact that you just spent $13 on an invisible steering wheel for your make-believe space car from your concerned family and friends.

I suddenly feel like I have traveled back in time to the 90's when it was "cool" to have translucent technology.
I'm looking at you, iMac / N64.

@Frozen Radiator But can we actually refer to this as "technology"? It is just a clear plastic steering wheel.

You crazy bastard!
They are clearly awesome. Like a funtastic, atomic purple glacier! It's pretty transparent.
It doesn't matter if you're nipples are fire orange, your ice blue balls or if your toes taste like grape purple. So, go smoke gray while eating watermelon red in the jungle green!

Of course we can, the research in the field initiated in the 90's when the existence of the translucitron was first hinted at by new developments in Quantum Field Theory. Then a race to find the hypothesised new particle began and the first empirical evidence of their existence was in 1995, by 1998 the technology had advanced enough to give us the memorable purple transparent game boy color.
I'm pretty sure that's how it happened... more or less.

A peripheral for a system where no peripherals is its biggest selling point, not that this hasn't been done before. (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/07/game-boat-accessory-ideal-for-kinect-adventures-perfect-for-t/)

Kinect is a complete joke to me. Not trying to sound like a troll here, but the entire concept, it's execution, it's marketing and it's target audience just shit me.
Then these things come along and remind me how big my hate-boner is for motion controls.

Oh please let this be the first of many "props" I know that sounds crazy but hear me out. I really think Kinect could create some really fun fps shooters...as long as we have SOME sort of controller. I think a gun prop with an analog stick on it to replace running in place and a trigger would be pretty cool. I love and miss the light gun games, I'd personally enjoy some arcade ports of the current light gun games. I just hope Microsoft will decide that some games need a controller but can still use the benefits of Kinect.
