Always felt the commercials for LA Noire were misleading will the exclusive content for PS3. They made it seem like, in the wording, that the game itself was exclusive to PS3.

@tdrwiega

Its a Sony funded ad. Microsoft does the same thing. At the end of the commercial both will claim...Only on "Playstation 3 or Xbox 360" of course its misleading, it is intended to be.

I think it'll be the gateway to the Pre order DLC. It will probably come with new copies of L.A. Noire. Unless there is a multiplayer mode of some sorts. I don't see how that could happen though

Maybe I'll finally pick up Age of Booty; I've been wanting it since launch! ...I doubt many would still be playing it online 3 years later, though, and that's apparently where the game really shines. Well, there's always local multiplayer!

@Acosta02 I tried playing it online last month. I waited and waited and no one wanted to play...:(

I give it one more year, before the ability to save your game is unlocked by a $10 add-on for secondhand users.

With how many different pre order incentives are going out day one I'd imagine its a way for those who bought it new to have access to all of them rather make it store pre order exclusive, and work overtime like the Cerberus network for ME2 with cases and other stuff being released, Meaning if you pre ordered somewhere else you'd be able to download...
The Naked City(Unless from Gamestop)
A Slip of the tongue(Unless from Walmart)
The Sharpshooter(A suit exclusive to Best Buy)
And The Broderick(A suit exclusive to Amazon)

For a modest fee of course.

oh yes, LA Noires 'Rockstar Pass' aka lets gauge you for $ as much as we can... but who cares right, i mean we defend these kinds of gouging.

60 dollar games? NOPE. Now its more like $70+

@PR0F3TA I guess you can equate this to being the LA Noire: Collectors Edition. You get a little extra for a little bit more money (now if this turns out to be but a cash grab for nothing more than avatar clothes, i'll be right with you in my displeasure)

my only alternative is to pirate lol seems rather ying to my yang. I rather vote with my wallet... which sucks because i'm getting LA Noir anyways so shame on me right. Still, pre launch DLC is depressing.

@PR0F3TA What is the issue? You buy the game at 60$ and get the pass should you ever want to download the DLC, its not like you have to.

@PR0F3TA - Assuming it's like all of the other Pass initiatives that have been done before and is included free to those that buy new, on what planet does the price of the game go up to $70?

Besides, with a three disc game (on 360), it's not like you're getting an incomplete game for $60.

Cool.

Depending on what's included, I'd consider picking this up on the PS3. Well, if you-know-what is up by then.

A producer from Rockstar was on SiriusXM today on the Opie and Anthony show, from what he was saying it really sounded like they maxed out at 3 discs on xbox and that it was almost 4 discs.

It sounded like they just cut some stuff to make it fit onto 3 discs and put it to dlc.

Why don't we wait and see exactly what this rockstar pass is before we start going insane about how much of a rip-off it is.

Im just about done pre-ordering games. Lately every game I pre-ordered has been marked down to $40 less than a week later. I can wait.

When a Publisher pulls this kinda shit I just utilize my Gamefly service.

Pre order from Amazon for $60, and they give you a $15 credit. So you can pretend, like me, that you're only paying $45 for it.

@HaVoK308 -- A lot of times retailers will price match themselves or others for up to 30 days after your purchase.

So yes, people who -for instance- recently pre-ordered Portal 2 from Gamestop or Best Buy could have gotten the $20 refund or whatever if they were so inclined (You may still have time!)

Amazon as well .. they refunded me $2 on a pre-order last year after I complained about the the price going down the day it came out

BUT i see your point and do agree with you. In this day, you just have to become more savvy spending your bucks :)

I'm still getting it, but if Rockstar is falling into the greed trap of online passes, who's next?

Just because I have interest in a game doesn't mean I have to agree with company policies. If I were interested in an upcoming EA release, I wouldn't have much choice about the online pass, now would I?
