Woo!

Glad they're shaking things up a bit by doing a bigger time jump than usual. Just hope there's plenty of modes to keep us all busy.

@Zal I'm worried they might shake up things too much. And introduce a magical fountain of youth that explains why characters aren't aging. Then again...Namco also has Heihachi and others fighting...

POUR DEVILS POT OF TEA!

He was kick ass in the PSP version, instantly became one of my favourite characters, he HAS to be in SC5.

I think its offcial, fighting games can't get enough of Kratos' badassness.

Ironically enough, some of the characters actually looked older in Broken Destiny, which is odd because that was supposed to be in a time frame before even the first Soul Calibur. Seong Mina or whatever the hell her name is, comes to mind as a good example.

@Bekefel Ivy will be in her 50s if this 17-year time skip thing is true. So think about that for a minute.

@Roto13 It's true, Ivy will have been quite on the downward slide since the current Soul Calibur games. I'd be quite surprised if she's in it, I expect a mostly new cast maybe with a few holdovers (Old Mitsurugi, anyone?) and for them to create a whole new female character that's wearing practically nothing.

Just realized the downside of cross-over characters - I'm totally gonna be bummed that Starkiller isn't in this one. He was such a fun character to play in 4.

I'm looking forward to Commander Sheperd as a guest character. I mean after going hand to hand against the Shadow Broker, I have no doubt that he could beat the hell out of Mitsurugi, and we could finally find out if Mitsurugi actually learned to deflect bullets with his sword or not.

I'd like to see a bunch of new characters. Something, anything to shake it up. As much as I love the Soul Calibur series, I was starting to feel burnt out on it with IV.

They're still bothering with this series? As far as fighters go it's all about Capcom, Mortal Kombat and Smash Bros. Anything else is not necessary now.

Tekken, Blazblue, Guilty Gear, even Deadliest Warrior is pretty sweet. You're just a snob for some reason. MK has blown up until a week ago, so I wouldn't even consider that a strong franchise. Just a lucky throwback

You heard the man, Namco.

Shut it down. Shut it all down.

You're no longer needed. We appreciate your efforts, but variety is apparently the spice of blah blah blah nobody gives a shit.

All kidding aside, the idea of MvC, SSB and MK being the only fighting games that are "necessary" is, in a word, superf*ckingstupid.

Which isn't really a word, but it communicates my position on the matter rather succinctly.

. . . that sounded a lot more like psycologic crap than it did in my head.

Main reason that'll push me to grab the game day 1.

3 things:
Decrease bust size - (it's getting absurd)
Tell the dev team to break out SC2 and simulate it's engine
Keep armor breaking and custom characters/styles.

Regardless, it's a must by for me.

@RickGhastly While I do voted you up for being awesome, I don't think realism is the proper term. I mean, there's a point where, to most people at least, breasts are too huge to be appealing.

http://media.onsugar.com/files/2011/04/15/6/1572/15721474/b3/pix2009021518244465.jpg

I think several Soul Calibur characters are there, or aproaching it. And if every character was "stylized" or had exaggerated features, you could chalk it up to that. But it's not that. It's adults whose breasts apparently grow between franchise outings and soon will be considered low orbiting sattelites if things keep going. Damn, even DOA keeps breasts consistent from Game to game, mostly.
