Rockstar fanboys should at least be prone to it. After all, they did make the worst portable game in the world: http://media.gamestats.com/gg/image/object/012/012940/evelKnievel_GBCpack_frontboxart_160w.jpg

BTW, if there's 1% of a game that's negative, that doesn't mean the other 99% isn't.

Rockstar didnt make this game. Team Bondi did... thats like saying Activision MADE the call of duty games. they didnt IW- TA did... ROCKSTAR FANBOYS (like me) Team Bondi need to be recognized now. Cheers for the Cash and discs R*, Team bondi have pushed your portfolio into a new dimension that RDR and GTA had yet too... One were they put the sand box well and truly under the microscope.

@TheFirstLegionnaire what other reviews? the LOWEST score I've seen is 80/100 , 8/10,and most of the reviews ive seen were 90-100. Name your sources or you just look like a troll. My sources can all be found on metacritic's critic reviews , these include 1up, giantbomb, ign, videogamer, gametrailers, and the rest of the big name review sites

What do you mean by "typical Joystiq hype"?

Without expanding on that you just sound like a complete idiot.

If you do expand on this, you will probably still sound like a complete idiot but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that you are a complete idiot.

I think by Joystiq hype, he means how they were setting us up for Brink for over a year, talking about how great it looked and so on. The only difference is that they crushed everything I had hoped for the morning it came out after I had preordered.

I only saw Justin playing LA Noire for like 1,200 hours. I doubt that's enough time to gather a reasonable amount of information for a review.

Oh, man, let's not relive that nightmare. I happened to run across the comment thread for that Brink review a few days ago and NOT RECOMMENDED.

That savage idiocy is why most gaming media outlets are afraid to give out low scores that reflect their opinion, and why 85 is an average rating score on Metacritic.

@Hoops I plan on picking it up tomorrow now since K-Mart has a deal where you get $20 gaming coupon and a $20 game for free with purchase. I just can't pass up that deal.

Also can either of you tell me how to change my name from unverified. I never get an email after I post but I get emails when people reply.

Not really fun? Sounds like they feel they have to give this game a high score because of the presentation and high production. Sorry but my #1 criteria for buying a game is that it is "fun". I have a feeling this will game will be overrated like GTA IV and then 6 months later people will realize that maybe they got into the hype a little too much and that games are supposed to be "fun" and not necessarily just arty and well done.

@FriedConsole Well, I guess that's your opinion dude, but everyone has a different definition of "fun". I personally think high-concept "arty" games are super fun.

@FriedConsole I think what Justin was trying to say was it's not "Traditional" fun. Is watching China Town fun? Is reading a Sam Spade book fun? No, it's a study in the dark themes that make Noir compelling. But capturing that makes for a compelling gameplay experience. I think the biggest problem is the lexicon of the medium. Since they are called "games" there's an expectation of "fun" to transcend that we need to embrace new terms and new definitions of quality for the medium. One of those may be the ditching of the term "video game" and adopting the more pretentious sounding but potentially more accurate "Interactive Media" name.

Any how, from what I read it sounds like bloody good fun. :-)

Fun is a difficult thing to pin down. People love Plants vs Zombies, but I found it incredibly boring. But a game like this, that's a combination of an interactive movie and a puzzle game, sounds terrific and a welcome change of pace from the rest of my mindless collection.

@FriedConsole I completely agree. I had got to play a couple hours of it. What I was expecting was to actually having to use my brain to solve crimes. Instead you have a chime that shows you where everything is at. and the cases are easy to solve for anyone with a half a brain.

Needless to say my expectations were shattered. This game seems more like a glorified tech demo for Team Bondi's face tech.

Don't get me wrong, I :will: buy it, but only after the price has dropped a bit.
